Ruby has a lot of texture issues with food - she cannot eat bananas, fish, wet eggs, or oatmeal or porridge.
She’s wanted to live in Paris ever since she was a very little girl, and when she and Quinn are both older, they buy a house and go to live there for a while.
In addition to the Disney Channel show that she and Jade were on, Ruby also had something of a tween pop music career. She released two albums, one of covers and one of some original bubblegum pop songs. (Brittany turns out to be obsessed with her album of original songs, and the two of them perform a few of them for glee club together.)
She definitely wrestles with some strong body image issues and unhealthy exercise and eating habits (all of which were caused by her mother and the pressure she put on her children), and though it takes a while for her to start to heal from all of that, she does begin to with the help of Jade, their dad, her friends, and Quinn.
She first realized she liked girls when she was ten years old and developed a crush on the girl who played the best friend of Jade’s character on their show. She was absolutely terrified to let anyone know, especially since her mother had already started to talk about famous boys around her and Jade’s age that she could arrange them to “date”.
Mac and cheese is one of her absolute favourite foods, and it’s one of the only things she can always eat, even when she’s having a bad food day.
When she, Jade, and their dad first move to Lima, Ruby is desperate to go back to California and back to her mom (she was always their mother’s “favourite,” and more eager to be famous than Jade ever was or is), but as she starts to realize how terrible her mother actually always was, she starts getting more content with life at McKinley.
Very good at doing hair, from so long doing gymnastics and watching the hairstylists on the twins’ show work, and she becomes something of the official hairstylist of the Cheerios.
Finally starts going to therapy with Jade after the failed Nationals in New York and her ensuing mental health spiral, and she’s so relieved when she actually starts doing better.
And, finally, here are some (not all!) roles in musicals that she plays over the years:
McKinley — Janet Weiss (Rocky Horror; originally meant to share the role with Rachel before the show gets cancelled), Galinda/Glinda Upland (Wicked), Mrs. Lovett (Sweeney Todd), Heather Chandler (Heathers), Cinderella (Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella).
Broadway & West End — Elle Woods (Legally Blonde), Regina George (Mean Girls), Sally Bowles (Cabaret), Roxie Hart (Chicago), Natalie Goodman (Next to Normal; also plays Diana in a different production when she’s older), Audrey Fulquard (Little Shop of Horrors), Anastasia Romanov (Anastasia).
send me 🌟 + an oc and i’ll tell you ten facts about them!!
