This staff was once blessed by Silvanus. The blessing seems to have faded long ago but, somehow the wood still thrums with a strange magic. This twisted oak feels sharp to the touch and sends a bolt of adrenaline through the users veins.
Alright, I used the official BG3 Toolset to create a "simple" item using existing game files. And it wasn't too bad of an experience, honestly. (I say "simple" because for the most part it's straightforward if you watch a tutorial, and I have experience already editing items outside of the toolset so I know about how to format and use boosts/defaultBoosts/passivesOnEquip/etc.)
I made a self indulgent staff for Majexatli, Twisted Oak. I might tweak it as I go, especially the description, but it's pretty nice being able to make something easily. For DAO I would always make each of my wardens like one or two custom items all the time, so it feels much like returning to that.

This conversation is so funny with Majexatli. Because of course Astarion is asking as a vampire, is asking this fun sexy question "who would you take a bite of?" as in drinking their blood (intimate). And Majexatli being lycanthrope-adjacent (as in, regularly hunting and killing and eating raw animals and also people) so "who would you take a bite of?" to them reads more as "If you had to hunt and maim/kill one of us and eat their flesh who would it be?" so Majexatli says Astarion not in a flirty way but in a "I care about the others too much so I'd probably kill you if I had to kill someone".
there's something to be said about Halsin (Silvanus worshipping Druid) having no problem killing a goblin child vs Majexatli (Malarite ex-Druid) refusing to kill a child and being explicitly forbidden from doing so due to their worship.
I wish Majexatli was a canon companion because I would love them to have bitchy banter with Astarion where they call his hunting skills shit and generally disapprove of him. But also can you imagine how poorly they would be treated by fandom? Just think about it for a minute ðŸ˜
