Another Obsidian Notes user in the wild! Such an underrated platform.
Ohhh yeah. I love this program. Here's my setup!
Plugins I use:
using obsidian for psych notes is so funny cause research methods is the topic to end all topics. everything relates to everything. wow
got bored and made some stamps. (not sure how to make animated ones sadly)
Yes I am posting it here too because I want you to know how much I am suffering; And yes, I know formatting my script like this isnβt necessary for what I do- but once you experience good formatting you canβt go back π
I give you permission to laugh though, itβs okay.

Fade In screenwriting software + Obsidian is a match made in heaven for comic creators.
Okay so. I will preface this by saying this is not sponsored at all. I am just talking about programs I use that I really enjoy, and how using them in tandem has really improved my script writing and organization.
Firstly, I will talk about Fade In. Fade In lets you write scripts very easily. The program looks like this. Fade In is a premium program, though- so it does cost money. I am on the free trial right now but from what I understand it is a perpetual license. So once you buy it, you have it. (If I am wrong please correct me, though!)
Writing a script like this in Microsoft Word or Google Docs would be such a pain, this really makes the experience seamless- and you can export your file into many different formats.
Now, let's talk about Obsidian. We know Obsidian as a modular note taking app, and it is SO good for organization. However, writing a script like this in it is just as frustrating as other non-specialized software. I still wanted to use Obsidian's organizational features because it really is a great way to keep everything all in one place, but I didn't know if I could import my formatting from Fade In into Obsidian. Copy pasting directly does not work.. however; Exporting your script as a .txt file and THEN copy pasting maintains the formatting!
So after putting this into Obsidian, it looks like this:
As you can see, dialogue remains in the center and is very easy to read, and actions / descriptions stay as a normal full-sized paragraph!
You can really have your cake and eat it too with this workflow, because I will tell you that if you make comics this format can really come in handy. Nothing is worse than slogging through lines of dialogue and not knowing what to draw because you didn't have any description. I dunno, it works really well for it and it MAY work really well for you, too!
It's a little frustrating though, because I like this formatting SO much that now I will have to rewrite all of my stuff in this way at some point- but I really do think it will be worth it!
which plugins do you use in Obsidian?
okok this is going to be a long post because I have multiple vaults for multiple projects which use different plugins. soooo answer beneath the cut :3
