We always dump crap on the Observants. So how about this?
About 99% of the Observants are complete assclowns, and wanting to control everything and being pretty much micro-managing everything. To the point no one in the Ghost Zone likes them, even Clockwork. Literally no one like the arrogant little eyeballs.
Only except there's literally only ONE Observant who actually does his job, and is not arrogant no matter what.
Like, imagine there - out of the infinite amount of Observants, there is the ONE OBSERVANT who actually does his job. This one actively follows the Oath of only having to Observe. But also follows the rules, and knows that some things need to change.
Unlike the OTHER Observants who wish to stick that Summoning Cirlces are the biggest thing there is in the past few trillions of eons.
That one Observant, unlike the others, will give advice - tips, but not outright force anyone to do anything. But again, stickler for the rules. He will have a headache each time Phantom does anything reckless.
Not the, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" kind of way. More like, "Please, don't do that - that's incredibly stupid."
But that Observant won't do thing for good, obviously. Just keep things in CHECK - make sure the multiverse doesn't freaking explode. True Neutral, not chaotic or evil or good. Just Pure Neutral.
The PROBLEM with being the only Observant who follows the Oath, Rules and KNOWS what he's doing is that anytime any OTHER Observant does anything stupid - his eyeball is going to pop out from his face from the stupidity of the Council.
And he's so outvoted by the other Observants, that everyone just BELIEVES all of them are bad. Not even CLOCKWORK knows about him, so every time the Observants try to be controlling - Dave the Observant is really tempted to strangle them for doing something so idiotic.
Think of it like a job. This one Observant actually knows what he's doing, what to do, and how to do it BETTER than the 'superior upstairs' because he has EXPERIENCE. Unlike those egotistical eyeballs.
And even worse, is when he DOES try to get involved - he gets pushed aside because they're assuming ALL of the Eyeballs are like this and he can't get a word in!
All he hopes is that ONE DAY - He'll be able to FIX whatever happened in the past few trillions of eons ago, because this is a disaster.
Micro-Prompt: Ghost King, our little brother
A lot of fanfics in which Danny Fenton becomes the ghost king usually portray the Observants as an antagonistic force for Danny, with both him and the Observants disliking each other quite a bit. This is, in my opinion, a woeful underutilization of the Observants.
I would like to see some good fics in which the Observants grow to see Danny as more of an annoying little brother than a potential threat to all realities. Protective where their bureaucracy allows them to be, still annoyed by a lot of the shit Danny does because he's a little gremlin.
Okay, instead of Clockwork disliking the Speedsters, he's actually loving them cuz they made his work so fun and interesting, I mean, he knows everything and he also knows that the Speedsters would fix it sooner or later and the timeline would be alright.
And the plus side of it all, is that he gets to see it in his cog mirror shaped portal thing directly with popcorn in hand.
The dramas, the angst, the comedy, the romance and things. Its just a full blown telenovela to him.
So when the day came where he finally found a smidge of time to go on a vacation, he brought Danny with him, so much for the boy's confusion in Clockwork's sudden invitation to drag him along to Gotham then to space of all place.
Turns out, Clockwork just needed the 'human' Danny for a sec and trolled around in the watchtower that he got a human hostage while Danny was just confused as hell as to what's happening.
Danny: Clockwork??? Hello??? What's happening?!?
Clockwork and his cryptid speech: Unnatural of a fog, the forest has changed. This time, the flow of the clock is mine.
Danny:.... WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT??!?
And then the JL just thinking that the human is in distress from being a hostage by this entity while Clockwork just wants to have fun.
And this is why the Observants wants to keep Clockwork at bay because of his trolling tendencies.

Gary by @letswonderspirit
I updated the model I made from the OC Parade earlier this year
Back then I wrote that I struggled with the eye-rig for Gary , I was not happy but I managed to make it work somehow. But still, the iris was crooked and didn't wrap around the eyeball.
In the meantime I learned some new methods for rigging and I figured I can redo Gary's rig with these methods. Now her iris wraps neatly around the eyeball and controls are better. Additionally, I made some adjustment on the meshes and added some textures instead the flat colors from before. Here a comparison in T-Pose:
Time and Space. One could not exist without the other. Two brothers, born of the universe’s existence at the same time. Neither more powerful than the other, but both with different skill sets. The two watched over the universe for millennia without issue.
Then came the Observants.
Beings nearly as old as Time and Space themselves. Except they were arrogant and prideful. They believed that Time and Space should not watch because it was their job. Their job to Observe, but never intervene. But Time and Space did not listen. They knew for the good of all reality, sometimes you had to intervene. This led to the first skirmish between Time, Space and the Observants.
Things only continued to get worse over the next few thousand years. The relationship between Time and Space strengthened in their resolve against the Observants. The Observants were clever, though, and knew they couldn’t defeat the brothers alone. So they plotted, and waited for the perfect opportunity.
Time was clever while Space was cunning. Together, they were unstoppable. Apart, they were vulnerable. The Observants took this opportunity and struck down Space. But Time was clever. He knew this would happen from the beginning, but he also knew that this was meant to happen. In all timelines, Space would be struck down.
But Time could not exist without Space. The Observants thought they knew all, but they knew nothing. In the chaos, Time saved his brother and hid him inside of the timeline and waited for the day he would be reborn. The day that his brother would come back from the dead, risen anew and much, much more powerful than he was before.
For now, all Clockwork could do was watch Danny Fenton and guide his brother towards his destiny.
