Plankton lowkey an objectum icon
from Objectum- Love at First Sight by Alexander Provan
so often when I read quotes from other objectums my ears hear poetry. they have so much beauty when they gush.
I just realized I'm auposic! I didn't realize that but that explains why since I was young I always had specific objects that had specific jobs and lives.
The first I can remember were a set of porcelain dolls I got from a teacher's aide. Rachel, Rebecca, and a ballerina one that escapes my memory. Rebecca liked to be by my pillow and creeping out people who were afraid of dolls (she was a diva), and Rachel just wanted to sit with the others. The Ballerina is very hazy (I don't remember my childhood much)
Even now my various plushies have different jobs and lives! Crumpet is Barnaby's son and they both like to go out with me. Sleepy doesn't leave my bed unless I'm sleeping somewhere else, and Ducky guards me when I sleep. I even have a dragon who hasn't taken a name yet, and I make him tiny jewelry because he needs it, all dragons need a hoard. It explains so much and feels so so right! I've even had rocks that were fully living (to me at least) and if they disappeared that meant they had to go to their next human to help them too!
This is positivity!

On a positive note, my mom made a little marriage certificate for some of my object partners and I, including my plushies and water gun

There's a new poll here for a bit of extra research! Feel free to do it :3
I learned about object personification and autism (here's an article about it (link) and a video (link). Please note the article was from the video and there is more info on it in the description)
Anyway that made me think of the objectum/objectophile communities and how much autism overlaps
So if you're an objectum/objectophile and have autism (diagnosed, undiagnosed, or suspected) feel free to answer the poll :3
This is not to say the reason the object(s) you're attracted to is because of this!
Tranobjectums/objectophiles and transautistic beings can also answer this
Got the tism?
Yes (diagnosed)
Yes (undiagnosed)
Yes (suspected/other)
No don't have the tism
it might be an uncommon take because of the amount of societal negativity around being objectum, but i truly think that being objectum has allowed me to see so much more beauty in the world than i might have otherwise. things that the common observer might consider unsightly or would barely even notice are beautiful to me, and i donโt see a lot of objectums talk about that part of their experience. there can be so much joy in the way that attraction to objects reframes your perception of the world: for example, the construction equipment blocking one apartment complexโs view of the skyline and making the one tennant angry might be the same equipment their neighbor has a crush on. i donโt know how to phrase it properly, but i feel as though itโs common for objectums have a far more positive outlook on the world than their non-objectum counterparts because of their attraction. anyway: love and positivity to any objectum reading this; you have a special way of seeing the world and you shouldnโt let anyone take that away <3
