first theory were posting and maybe someones brought this up already but but we have SEEN onset three of starsheet before. who has (had, dead now) it?

look at these two panels.

look at how the eye is the focus of the panel. its what youre drawn to. both eyes look off too. we all know with razor its because she has delirium. meanwhile sunnys eye COULD be due to how hes assimilated, wagyus eye is also very weird but thats cuz hes infested. but that isnt as interesting. so why cant it be starsheet? this would actually fit with what we know about starsheet too. every instance so far has been related to a heightened feeling (paranoia and aggression). if this were onset three it would be heightened love/adoration.

Okay, so I DON'T actually think that the person behind the apocalypse's parasites is Pushpin (can't discount that it's her, it's more of a vibes thing) but I think that Fossil THINKS it's her

This scene of Fossil staring at the assimilated object and flashing back to when Pushpin told them about moth coremata. Particularly her talking about the discovery of the "fear" pheromone produced by False Kings

Speaking of Pushpin's research on false kings: ALL of it reeks of the parasites. The beetles which can break down synthetic tissue the way that parasites have been shown to infest, the parasites superficially resembling beetle larvae, the isolation by Pushpin of the growth hormone found in false kings (Painkiller has mentioned at least twice now how startlingly huge the assimilated objects can get, as if something about being infested was causing them to grow at rapid rates) I've talked before about how whoever did it most likely had to have been in Fossil and Pushpin's inner circle due to Fossil's extensive research into modifying respawn terminals to reprogram objects- but in Fossil's eyes who in the world would know her research better than her partner of 10 years? We don't truly know enough about Pushpin to say for sure if it's possible for her to have had a hand in the manufacturing of the apocalypse. But my instinct? I don't think it's her. We know Fossil has complicated feelings about her old partner and carries this deep paranoia and resentment towards her, from a narrative standpoint (at least with the story as it is now) I don't think that it would make sense for Fossil's suspicions to be affirmed here. That said based on literally nothing I think the real culprit is this little bastard

Okay this is gonna sound kinda weird and I'm writing this on the spot so it might be ass but oh well. The main reasoning to my theory is the new pride poster. Look at the similarities between these two photos:

Chester has been known to foreshadow things in his merch, (example: razor's winter coat) and the fact that they're both shadowed in similar colors speaks to me, as well as the fact that PK is wearing their mom's hat, who had died of internal injuries. This next one might be a bit of a stretch but when PK asks if Fossil's close with anyone, they answer with "not particularly". Which was most likely pointing towards her and Pushpin, but it could also lead to them having mixed feelings about PK's death

And finally, in this scene:

It could be foreshadowing of Painkiller dying of internal injuries. if somebody could've opened them up and saved them, (ex: if they die due to the narcotic gas) from possibly loosing consciousness and being assimilated and/or dying of blood loss.

looks like in the next episode gums dream/flashback takes place in marshlight port during the sea of lights festival. (the figure in the fourth picture is most likely sharps but I'm not 100% on that) :)))

plusssss in the episode preview we can see gum doesn't have her eye scar so this DEFINITELY takes place before she broke up with candy. gum and sharps first meeting mayhaps? :3
