Dan Heng with vampire! Reader
You met Dan Heng back when he first traveled with the Mourning Actors, the two of you repressing your feelings because of your situations. But as you come back, you slowly realize you canât keep it hidden for long.
Warnings: suggestive
Part one - part three
Being aboard the Astral Express was very different from traveling with the Mourning Actors, that much was for sure
For one, the crew truly cared about your presence. They constantly played games, hung out with each other, talked about the most mundane topics just because they could, and more
They truly felt like a connected family. If you were being honest, you felt very out of place.
Dan Heng was kind enough to say by your side until you got adjusted to everything. He was the one that knew you best, after all. And he knows how fast your social battery drains
It wasnât because you were a vampire. Itâs just⊠talking to people for hours on end was not your forte
Though you did freak the express crew out when Mr. Yang was talking about some history on a planet called earth and the Trailblazer would not shut up. They kept trying to talk to you and ask about your abilities and if the myths were true
Dan Heng could see you slowly getting fed up question by question
âAnd then when humans fought,â Mr. Yang talked endlessly, with the Trailblazer saying at the same time, âIs it true that you hate garlic? Do you drink specific types of blood? Can you turn into any animal of your choosing or does it depend on if you have to actually see the animal with your own eyesââ
They screeched and fell on their butt when you suddenly turned into a cauldron of bats, flying frantically around the Parlor Car. Himeko and March startled greatly, the latter clutching to the former in a death grip
Welt stepped back in surprise, clutching his cane tightly and trying to figure out how to deal with you
Pom-Pom yelled loudly about how you were getting the car messy because they just cleaned it
Dan Heng, used to things like this, simply walked in the middle of the freaked out bats, holding out his arm and waiting patiently for the colony to die down
Soon, many of them dispersed until only one flew around, chirping and squeaking before landing on his arm
You clicked, rubbing your head with your wing and wrapping them tightly around your fuzzy body, burying your head so you donât have to look at the group any longer
The expressâ guard gazed at the rest of the crew with a small grimace, âThey get overstimulated easily.â Like the words were enough to explain
And they were, to your shock. Everyone seemed to understand and respected your boundaries afterward
You were eternally thankful to Dan Heng and even more to the crew for giving you space when you needed it, and keeping the Trailblazer under control so your bar dilemma wouldnât happen again
But you did enjoy being a bat all so you could hang out in the archives with Dan Heng. The whirring of the electronics and the occasional flipping of pages were very soothing on your ears
Youâd always hang upside down beneath his desk, chirping or sleeping there. Heâd check up on you to make sure you were comfortable, even giving you belly rubs when he thought you were fast asleep
Other times youâd sleep in his lap, and he would stroke behind your ears to calm you. He was a very relaxing person, and that helped you immensely with getting adjusted to life on the express
Donât worry! Even though it took you a while, you did become close with the rest of the crew. Close enough that it finally felt like you belong, even if it took a few planets to do so
Theyâd always be worried about you when you hadnât had blood for a while. Welt and Trailblazer (surprisingly) would store extra blood bags for you in case a planetâs hospital wouldnât have any
Himeko provided a safe space where no light from stars or suns shone bright enough to burn you. The trio (March, Dan Heng, and Trailblazer) actually loved hanging out with you in that room. You made it very homey and comfortable and it wasnât as dark as theyâd assumed. It was now the designated hang out spot. Congratulations
Pom-Pom would let you clean too! You were fast enough and a clean freak like them, so you were the only other person to help clean the cars. It was fun to hang out with them and listen to their stories too
Sometimes the trio would ask about your features out of curiosity. The Trailblazer learned to tone down their questions too. They asked about your fangs, how many animals you can turn into, how strong you were, all the works
While everyone was welcoming and nice, there were always bound to be some complications with your state
Like when the express arrived at a planet because they were low on supplies, you didnât want to burden them further by asking for blood bags. Even if you ran out weeks ago and is barely surviving
Dan Heng had noticed your paler-than-usual state, and the fact that you were swaying on your feet
He took you aside into the archives, his hand holding your wrist before letting go to hold your neck and feel your weak pulse
âDid you eat?â He asked with concern, his eyes narrowed in that worried way, even as his expression stayed cool and controlled
You refused to meet his eyes, going as far as to purse your lips before shaking your head. âI didnât want to bother you all.â You told him
He scoffed, âBother us? You need to eat, youâre not bothering us just because you have a different diet.â He took off his coat, setting it aside and pulled down his turtleneck enough to show his collarbone
Your mouth went dry for entirely different reasons
âHere,â he braced himself against the desk behind him, his hand moving from your neck to the back of your head to pull you closer. You had to stop yourself from shivering when his fingers brushed against the hairs at the nape of your neck. âI can sustain you until we can get the supplies you need.â
You desperately tried to protest, even if it was a little weak, âNoâ I couldnât, not from youâŠâ
Dan Heng was insistent. He had that gleam in his face that told you he wasnât going to take no for an answer. âEat. Now. I wonât tell you again.â
Well how could you decline? He looked like he was halfway to pulling you closer and force feeding you and you wouldnât mind at all
You moved closer, gazing at him one last time before sinking your fangs into the crook of his neck. You wanted to avoid major arteries, and you didnât want to make the marks visible on his skin
But you also could not stop your cheeks from heating up when he took a shaking gasp, letting it out with a: âMmâŠâ and fluttering lashes
That nearly sent you into a frenzy.
Yeah, remember when I said you both had feelings you didnât act on?
It was coming right back. All of that built up tension overflowing like water in a glass
You forced yourself not to do anything, only focusing on his blood flowing down your throat. It was delicious, if you were to be honest. Something similar to your favorite sensation, be it sweet or spicy, and feeling it coat your tongue
Goodness, it was difficult to break from him.
Maybe he was feeling the same thing too because his hands moved higher into your hair, giving it a gentle tug, âSlow down.â He said softly, âIâm not going anywhere.â
You nearly choked. Instead, your own hands moved down to his waist
Aeons, was he snatched? Well, you mean you noticed it in the past that he was more on the lean side, but you didnât realize it was like this
This man was going to give you a heart attack. You donât even know if vampires can get that, but he was sure as hell testing it!
His breaths became heavier, brushing against your pointed ear. You had to ignore him arching his back. That was a subconscious thing, he didnât mean to, anyone would react to them getting their blood sucked by a vampire
His hand shook in your hair, the other rising to rest on your shoulder as he tilted his neck back against the shelf. His eyes were closed, his chest rising and falling faster than normal
It was probably because he was getting dizzy. Yes, thatâs all it was, he was dizzy
âGreedyâŠâ you heard him mumble, finally pulling at your hair to get you off him
You were positively heaving from the taste of his blood, no doubt your eyes a pure black, shiny and bright and probably made you look high
You probably were anyway
His thumb caught stray drops from your lips, cleaning it off
He stared, âYouâre out of it, arenât you?â
You didnât nod. Your face said it all.
âItâs to be expected. You havenât eaten for days, maybe weeks knowing you.â He tilted your head back up with his finger hooked under your chin when it was slowly falling, just to make sure you were looking at him. âYouâre probably feeling the endorphins right now.â
You were not listening to a word this man was saying. All you heard were sounds and the fact that his lips were moving
âYou know,â Dan Heng had that dangerous half-lidded gaze, âIâve read in the archives that a vampireâs bite is a euphemism for a certain⊠activity that also releases endorphins to the brain. Is this true?â
Head empty, no thoughts, but you certainly answered that question. âYes, it is.â
Silence. And thenâ
âI need more information about vampires,â his hand cupped your cheek, his body leaning into your own that still gripped to his waist. âWould you mind giving me a first hand account?â And he dared to do it while putting his legs on either side of your hips
Oh. You certainly wouldnât.
A/N: hehehhehehehe you know maybe if yâall like this I might add a third part that continues directly from this. But only if Iâm confident enough cause I want it to be good. Weâll see ig
