Finyo, a collaboration
“Naona mmesema hii shamba siwezi lima, nacome na plough mbilli - hii ingine, ni ya finyo pekee.”
- Nyash
Do we see what’s happening here? The face of belief, when anger, crystallised, formed and channeled. The space that magneto talks about, somewhere between anger and serenity. Just angry enough to make peace with to use the force of anger to create change. To light the fire under your arse and set your jet engines full speed towards the impossible.
To refuse to listen to anything other than the soft spoken gentle voice from within that says, yes - it’s possible.
“nikona issue iko juu yangu ka si kofia, kwa ma-issue za vitabu za historia, jina yangu watoi wako wataisoma pia. Ata ukikufa ukisema hukuwai niskia.”
And, in it being possible and reachable - it becomes inevitable. And as the inevitability of one thing becomes apparent so does the inevitability of things in general.
“na isikupate unatry too hard to be perfect, saa zingine jipe ruhusa ya kuwa ratchet”
There is little to do in the face of your own powerlessness but laugh. If everything is inevitable then why try? And the voice says, just give it a shot.
“Watu na-race nao wameshindwa kushusha handbrake”
Because it is inevitable and because it must, you must. And as this becomes apparent you realise that they must.
“Uhunye na Rao wamepiga handshake”
even the most ludicrous ideas come to pass.
Even the most ludicrous ideas come to pass.
Don’t take your foot off the gas.
