Nurugai had many people whom she trusted over the years.

Her parents were first, although she can't remember a great deal about them. They'd died during a hunt when she was four years old, so she supposes that is only to be expected — but from what little flashes she can still recalls paired with her grandfather's endless stories, she knows she loved them. She trusted them with her life, when they'd been part of it.

Gabimaru and Shion were both already using tao in their fighting, they just hadn't fully awakened to it. Sagiri isn't quite on their level in terms of raw strength but keeps pace anyway thanks to both her strong talent for swordsmanship and her learning to balance strength and weakness inadvertently(at first) enabling her to progress alot quicker in learning tao. Fuchi's morbid detachment allows him to analyze the threats and shrug off the shocks that got so many others killed, Tamiya's gone so far down the path of violence that he had no sort of instinctual hesitation in cutting off his own hand to survive and seemed like he barely even felt it, Yuzuriha seems to be about a 50-50 split between Gabimaru's talent and Tamiya's cutthroat detachment, and of course Chobei's an absolute fucking lunatic.
