🩸 Did you know that fingersticks still matter even if you wear a #CGM. Since CGMs read fluid under the skin (not blood), they can lag up to ~20 minutes, especially when sugars are changing fast. If your symptoms don’t match the number or the sensor seems off, double-check with a meter and keep your BGM handy for safety. @pipdiabetes
Pip is a really modern alternative to traditional lancets, and it’s made #fingersticks feel a lot less intimidating. The lancets come pre-loaded and single-use, so there’s no loading or fiddling with a device so you can just grab one and go. I also love the hidden-needle design, which is especially helpful if you’re needle-shy or using it with kids.
Activation is smooth with zero vibration, and the twist-and-dispose setup makes cleanup quick and simple. It’s also nice that Pip comes in multiple sizes, so you can choose what works best for your skin and comfort level. Overall, it’s a solid option for kids, adults, and caregivers who want something easier, cleaner, and more discreet than the usual lancets.

🩹 Do’s & Don’ts of Wound Cleaning at Home Because healing starts with the basics.
We’ve all been there — a minor cut, scrape, or burn. It looks harmless at first… but without proper cleaning, even small wounds can turn into big problems.
Here’s a quick guide to keeping things clean and healing right 👇
✅ DO: ✔ Wash your hands before touching the wound ✔ Rinse with clean water or saline — no fancy stuff needed ✔ Gently pat dry with sterile gauze or a clean cloth ✔ Apply antibiotic ointment (only if needed) ✔ Cover with a fresh, sterile bandage
❌ DON’T: ✘ Don’t use hydrogen peroxide or iodine (they can damage healthy skin) ✘ Don’t touch the wound with bare hands ✘ Don’t reuse old dressings ✘ Don’t ignore signs like redness, pus, or swelling — they may mean infection
✨ Bonus tip: If someone’s diabetic, elderly, or recovering from surgery, even a small wound deserves extra attention.

Repost @nursericha_ Let’s talk nurse confidence!🩺 Self doubt usually keeps you on the edge and practice nursing safely for your patients, but too much self doubt can become problematic and hinder your growth as a nurse. Self confidence is very important to overcome learning gaps, to stop feeling like an imposter and to fight work anxiety and stress. Here’s what I did to overcome self doubt & develop confidence as a nurse: 💉Remind yourself how you got here: you studied hard, learnt skills, killed it at clinicals, passed NCLEX & got a job because of your hard work. Don’t forget how hard you’ve worked & the knowledge you possess. Remind yourself of your past successes and know that you got this too! 💉Make progress each day & reward yourself: learn something new each day & when you perform a new skill you just learnt, appreciate yourself for it. It will help you build confidence in your learning skills & performance. 💉Become a sponge: Take in all the knowledge you can. Always show initiative to learn new skills. If you find out about an opportunity presenting at your workplace to learn something new, do not think twice before grabbing that chance. New skills & new knowledge will help you build confidence in your competence as a nurse. 💉Specialize: I cannot emphasize enough on how important it is to always keep learning. Not only studying will help you gain more knowledge and provide better care, but it will also give you an edge and a unique confidence. Here’s just some tips to help you build confidence as a nurse. As I always say, fake it till you make it. Don’t hesitate to ask for help. Don’t feel bad for asking questions. Even if you’re scared of someone thinking you’re stupid, don’t hold back, because after getting the answer, you’re growing for yourself & they were once in your shoes too. So don’t let anyone bring you down ❤️ ——————————————————— #nursetips #confidenceiskey #howtobuildconfidence #confidentwomen #confidencequotes #aspiretoinspire #newnurse #nursesofinstagram #nursingstudent #nursingstudentlife #nurseshelpingnurses #workanxiety #learningeveryday #motivation #cutenurse https://www.instagram.com/p/CLkEhurhe-H/?igshid=1qi7snt03r4ov
