happy nurses week!
as a (very soon to be) nurse, here are my favourite things about each nurse on the pitt, and my favourite moment of theirs.
perlah
my favourite thing about perlah is the way she supports those around her. her willingness to look for everyone, scan a room and find the person in need of most help, is a beautiful thing. she easily covers a patient when a gun is discovered, she hands santos an energy drink, she watches over everyone. she keeps her cool, is compassionate and sarcastic, but always there for people. my favourite moment is when someone finally takes care of her in return, on the rooftop, when dana hugs her.
princess
what i adore about princess is how honest she is. she stands up for herself, complains when she thinks it's necessary, and gossips a lot. but she's never mean about it, ever. she makes candid jokes, doesn't shy away from making fun of her coworkers, but always speaks kindly to them when they need it. when roxie tells her how she's able to do this job, she responds with honesty but also humor. she knows the value that her candidness brings. my favourite part is when she won the bet this season and said 'all i see is green baby!', an absolute icon
dana
my favourite part about dana is her protectiveness. she will stand up for anyone and everyone if she has to, and will yell in people's faces to protect those she cares about. whether she needs to go to abbot when she's worried about robby, or when she needs to yell at robby for being innapropriate. she does what she stands for, and cares for her nurses. my favourite moments of hers are when we see her vulnerability come through, because it's often something she puts aside in order to protect others.
emma
emma's curiosity and willingness to try new things is my favourite trait or her. she makes mistakes, and even gets assaulted in a brutal way, but it doesn't stop her. it reminds me of the time i saw my first code and still stayed until shift end. she's brave, honest, and so so so willing to help others. while she has a lot to learn, her kindness and curiousity is what will make her an amazing nurse. my favourite moment of her is when donnie asks her if she's ever taken a rectal temp before, her face and little 'uh, theoretically' was adorable.
donnie
my favourite thing about donnie is his calmness. i don't think i've ever seen that man be stressed a day in his life(we've only seen two, but oh well). he calms people down, teaches them, speaks up when he needs to, and you can really tell that his calmness directly impacts his patients and colleagues. his presence is a great value to that chaotic ED. my favourite moment is when he runs past dana with a donut in his mouth and dana goes 'et tu, donnie?"
mateo
mateo mateo mateo. he's just really optimistic and relaxed, i love that about him! he jokes with his coworkers, does his little flirty thing, and then works fast and efficient in trauma's. he seems to be fitting well with every character, because he's genuinely a really likeable character! my favourite part is in season one where he talks about the 'what makes mateo vomit' scale. icon
jesse
my favourite part about jesse is his quiet observance. he doesn't talk as much, but we can always see him observing, judging, and processing what's happening around him. he has a very strong moral compass and therefore knows exactly when to actually do something. we see this during the ICE scene, but in many other moments too. my favourite moment of his is actually the that very scene, where you can see how his observance and his strong moral compass combine into a good deed, even if it doesn't go well.
