As much innovative as the birth of the digital theatre is, the sense of this performance's liveliness could never be recorded as how it were live, there, breathtaking, at the Olivier stage.
Antony, one of the three rulers of the Roman Empire, is conducting an affair with Cleopatra, the Queen of Egypt. When Antony's wife Fulvia suddenly dies, his sense of duty returns. Rome asks for him, summoned to assist fellow members of the ruling triumvirate, Caesar and Lepidus, to manage a threat from Pompey with another ruler Octavius. In battle with this new competitor for leadership, Antony faces the difficulty of their relationship, jealously and miscommunication. Caesar declares war on the two lovers and Antony is defeated by Caesar at sea. Jealously and miscommunication from the furious Queen lead their relationship to a poisonous ending.
An anxious form of love fighting to survive, a fight for faithfulness and loyalty, a fatal affair.
