For those who know me know I LOVE chai (tea) not chai tea it’s just chai. I am a bit of a tea snob. I like it made in certain ways but am open to trying different blends. I don’t mind dip tea or making it Indian way by boiling the spiced water, milk and sugar(if you like it sweet, I prefer mine without sugar). I came across @thechaibox last year (this post is a long time coming). They source their tea from Kerala and the blends have no artificial flavors or preservatives. I put in an order chai box which resembles a Indian spice box, it brings in a level of nostalgia. The chai box contains 7 containers, 6oz of True Blend, 2oz of Cardamom, 2oz of Fennel Seed, 1oz of Cinnamon Bark, 1oz of Clove and a recipe card. I mix my spices and tea in my Loose Leaf tea infuser (from @amazon ), put it in my mug and pour boiling water and let it steep for a bit (I add milk while it’s steeping). Happy New Year!! It’s 2020 and we are 2 days in. Time to start the year off my decluttering and cleaning mind, body, soul, home (🙄 yes home too) and putting together my vision board to help me focus. One of my resolutions is to be good to myself. Self care is important but when work life and school it’s can be challenging. It’s already back to work and school starts next week. In order to keep work life school balance I am trying something new. I am scheduling 30 minutes me time on my daily schedule (not including my daily workouts). Be it 30 mins of meditation or just quiet time with a good book. I am also trying to put some date nights on the calendar so the hubby and I can just chill even if it’s at home with a movie and wine. I am also working on putting blogging and screen time on my calendars so I can do what I enjoy doing but don’t stay glued to my phone or devices all the time. While tidying I will also go thru my products and makeup, purge & organize so I can get back to reviewing them for you. As we nourish the mind it’s also about nourishing the body. Hubz and I are back to our workouts 4-6 days a week. With cold weather my Instapot is also for lots of healthy soups, pongal, lemon rice & experimenting with other recipes. We also signed up for Hello Fresh for a few weeks (let’s see how that goes) I know that is a lot of scheduling & planning but not overly planning my life just trying to stay on track. Skincare can be tricky & no one size fits all. Everyone’s skin is unique & you have to use products that work for your skin. I am sharing my AM routine & products I am using currently. I have acne prone combination skin. It may seem overwhelming but honestly takes less than 5 minutes. Note: morning skincare is about protecting your skin. AM Routine Cleanse: I use a mild cleanser. I go between IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Cleanser or Philosophy Purity Cleanser Toner: I spray my skin with PIXI Vitamin Wakeup Mist & DHC Collagen Mist. Depending on who you ask some say toner is important some say it isn’t. Toner balance the PH of the skin. (I also like the Dior Capture Youth New Skin Effect Enzyme Solution). Serum: pick a serum that target your specific skin concerns. First I use the Murad Multivatimin Oil all over my face and then use the Peach and Lily Glass Refining Serum mixed with Dr Dennis Gross C+ Collagen. Eye-cream: First I want to thank my sis. She had me start using eye cream at when I was around 15 or 16 years old (thx didi ❤️). Currently I am using Sunday Riley Autocorrect. Moisturizer: Since I have combination skin I like using moisturizers that are not heavy in the skin. I have several I love but currently using Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Cream. SPF: At minimum you need SPF 30 & reapply. I have been using SPF 50 for years. My fav is Aveeno Protect and Hydrate. Some Helpful Tips 1. Always press product into the skin & give it a few minutes before applying another product. 2. Don’t get stuck using one product. Skin evolves & your products have to be as well. What I used in my 20s didn’t work for me in my 30s. 3. You may need to change your products when seasons change 4. Always wear SPF no matter the weather. 5.
