“Melon Cart,” by Golden Road Brewing . This watermelon wheat ale comes in at a very low 4% ABV. It is light bodied with a light cider almost champagne like color and smells likes cantaloupes. Getting into this one it has a tiny hint of sweetness, you get that nice summer watermelon taste. But honestly the real star here is the cantaloupe and honey dew, I mean I didn’t realize how much I liked honey dew until I took a sip of this beer. I mean this beer is pretty god damn delicious if I do say so my self, it’s a wheat ale so it very light and crisp. Then that cantaloupe and honey dew just do a little sexy dance together on your tongue and of course Mr. Honey Dew dips Mrs. Cantaloupe because he’s the man here and he’s in charge. The whole thing is just super refreshing and a great beer on a hot day it’s even inspired by the iconic fruit cart vendors of Los Angeles and that’s pretty sick. This beer is for golfing and that’s exactly what I did with it, I didn’t do great but I did have a good beer to drink while I sucked. 💫🍫“Imperial Cosmic Cocoa,”🍫💫by Sibling Revelry Brewing. This Bourbon barrel chocolate Stout flys in high at a 8.5% ABV and is 22 IBU’s. Heavy bodied, it has a very dark black color almost as dark as your ex’s heart, and I heard that’s pretty dark. Going in with my nose it smells like straight chocolate and bourbon, go figure right. It starts off bitter, you get that strong bourbon barrel flavor, smoked whisky like taste with hints of vanilla. Then you get tongue kissed with those coco nibs and yes, you will kiss them back. I will say it has a very nice subtle chocolate turnover, like it’s a god damn dessert at your local Arby’s. It then finishes sweet chocolatey and smooth. I can see me maybe drinking this while I’m on a ski trip... that’s all I’m just on a ski trip and everything goes pretty well. ☀️🍒“Pooltime Ale,”🍒☀️ by Bells Brewery. This Belgian inspired wheat ale comes in at a 5.0% ABV. It’s Medium body with a hazy apple cider color and a nice subtle cherry aroma. Getting into this summer beer it’s a little on the sweeter side, it has strong notes of cheery. Seeing that it’s brewed with Michigan cheery juice, which I don’t know what’s the difference between that and Ohio cherry juice is but I’m assuming it sucks a football. It has some hints of clove which gives it that sweet but bitter taste and almost adds some warmth to it. It finishes smooth and a little bitter. Not a bad summer beer at all, definitely good for drinking in the pool on a hot day while you are out here dunking your little cousins underwater, practically drowning them and making them cry just being that water bully that your uncle raised you to be. “Cowboy Konkey Dong,” by Hoof Hearted Brewing. This Double IPA saddles in at a 8.0% ABV. It is medium bodied with a vibrant yellow hazy-golden color and a citrusy tangerine aroma. Opening this book up you get little fruity hints of orange and tangerine. It has an earthy pine and mango taste from the hops. I’m thinking some mosaic hops. It’s a double IPA so you would think it’s very hoppy and strong but being in this business I realized nothing is what it seems and this is no exception. It finishes nice and smooth not to hoppy at all if I do say so myself. I like it, am I crazy about it no, but it’s not bad at all. I can see myself maybe drinking this in the bayou after a couple alligator fritters. Maybe I’m rocking some very clean and exclusive alligator cowboy boots. I mean I’m talking so fresh they’re basically still crawling. I don’t really know what alligators have anything to do with this beer but that is just how I feel so deal with it. “Fruit On The Bottom,” by Hoof Hearted Brewing and a special collab with Stillwater Artisanal. This sour IPA creeps in with a 6.0% ABV. It has a pretty electric yellowish golden color. It’s medium bodied with a fruity aroma. Starting off it’s kind of sweet, the name definitely fits. I get a strong strawberry-banana flavor and there might be a little lemon or orange in there, but the strawberry and banana stand out the most. You also get a hint of that milk sugar, which definitely plays a part in its sweet front. It then finishes sour and tart but still kind of smooth. It says it’s “rotationally hopped” but for a IPA it’s honestly not really hoppy at all. I do like the artwork on this one though its pretty unique, and I like unique shit. I mean it’s not bad at all, I can see myself drinking this maybe on a warm morning after I just had a whole hearted breakfast and my body is just ready to tear shit up. The police will have to most likely stop me, not arrest me but probably just tell me that I need to calm down. Check out this sick ass Dogfish Head coaster!!! Got this bad boy from last years beer tour. I had to post it though the artwork is just so cool and has a really nice chill vibe to it. The guy is playing some records for his lady. While she sits back drinks some wine and enjoys it. Doing a little more research I found that dogfish head is actually the officially Beer of Record Store Day. A day that is dedicated to the culture of independently owned record stores. I can dig that shit. I’m a little late though record store day is actually on April 13th but whatever.
