I'm an out of mind out of sight person so I'm always terrified to close a tab before I'm done with it because even if I save it somewhere I'll never remember what it was and never be able to find it again hence why my computer cries in pain at all times

Oh, same. That’s why I don’t have a tab organizer of any kind or a “read later” bookmarks folder (”Watch Later” on youtube is an exception because I’m always trying to find enjoyable content on youtube, and usually after a quick review of my subscriptions, I have to hit up the Watch Later to find more). If I close a tab, it’s because either I’m done with it or I know I never will be, and I just make the conscious decision to let that go. 

There are a couple of things that I trained myself out of a long time ago that made my life so much better:

1. It’s okay to close a tab if you’re not interested. You probably won’t be interested in it later, and you will forget about it 10 minutes from now. (This eventually parlayed into me being less likely to open a given tab -- I’m very, very choosy about what news, fanfic, etc I read.)

2. It’s okay if you are not first in line for giveaways, free stuff, and free food. You have enough money to buy yourself anything you could get for free. 

3. It’s okay if you don’t know enough about a topic to offer an opinion. And it’s okay if you never learn, either.

Honest congrats on finally finishing something after two months of avoidance. Truly a goddamn mood.

You had me at "I will never take away recess from a child for any reason." I was a hyperverbal child and my first grade teacher's favorite remedy for this infraction was to take away fine minutes of recess for every instance of shushing me. It didn't take an adult ADHD diagnosis to let me know how counterproductive this was

I’m also a real-life example of someone who’s lived in enough places to have a weird mish-mash of accents?

@roadkill2580 is a linguist, and visited me recently, and I’ve been informed that my accent has:

Generic Midwestern American as a base. (I lived in Colorado for seven years.)

Some Long Island (where I and my family currently live, and where I lived from ages seven to eleven).

Some NYC, basically Manhattan (speed) and Queens. (I lived in Queens from two to seven, and was in Manhattan for four years for university.)

Some very, VERY rare Serbian vowels (because I’m Serbian and my parents both have very heavy accents).

Minnesota. I’ve never even been to Minnesota. I’ve known precisely zero real-life Minnesotans. It just somehow HAPPENED and now there’s bits and bobs in there when I talk.

EDIT: AND there’s bits of Southern because there were some kids from further south where I went to school in Colorado.

Hi, Joy @notoverjoyed! I’m your pinch-hitter for the Young Avengers Holiday Exchange - thank you for the prompt! I had a lot of fun with this and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!

To be perfectly honest, for a minute I was hardcore a ‘not my Shiro’ girl. But I think a lot of that was gut reaction to how the whole season went, because when I rewatched it a day later, I had so many feelings. I do believe that the Shiro we’ve seen in this season is not the Shiro in S1 or S2. But I’m learning that most of the time, even when I think I’m on the right track, and when I watch all the trailers, what happens when I watch the season is never what I expected. So I won’t go too much into what I think might be the big plot twist and just focus on all the pretty things we’re getting from it. I will now protect Kuron as readily as Shiro because he’s suffering too, and I have a feeling things that happen with him later are going to be really sad. The artists and writers are doing amazing things with the S3 reveals, and I’m happy to partake.

Specifically for new Uliro headcanons, I have been inspired by some folks to write something with Ulaz and his reaction to Kuron. I’m fiercely debating whether I want to start an entirely new project, or if I’m finally going to draw some real canon events back into the Where We Belong AU. Whatever I decide to do, it’s going to be painful for a little while. Ulaz’s ability to see through the facade is directly proportional to the amount of development he and Shiro have had as a couple. Canonically speaking, there hasn’t been much of a chance to foster any sort of relationship and I’m ignoring the fact that Ulaz is gone, so many of the clues that Ulaz would have used to differentiate between the two will be much more limited. But I love Ulaz figuring out that fastest way to test whether Shiro is Shiro or Kuron would be to scan the arm. If his coordinates are there, ding ding! we have a winner.

For some reason, I honestly don’t think that Ulaz realized there were clones being made. Maybe it’s because of how I’ve developed some of my headcanons over the last three seasons, but this feels like a druid/Haggar-inspired thing? Lotor’s behavior and some of the implications from the last/OG paladins episode have me thinking that the Galra were pretty structured and held to certain beliefs. The whole concept of Altean alchemy and stuff that messes with the natural order of things seems very un-Galra. And since I headcanon Ulaz as being quite old and with leanings to the old ways, him finding a cloning lab would be like the proverbial straw. No way to be sure if he knew or not unless something is revealed in later seasons. 

So let’s say Ulaz lives, the Uliro ship sails, and along comes Kuron. There’s a lot of canon stuff that has to be worked around, but I want to believe that Shiro would have sympathy for Kuron – especially if Kuron were convinced he was the real Shiro until reality stepped in. Imagine him having those memories of Ulaz, and Ulaz knows by all of his instincts and an arm lacking coordinates that it isn’t the real Shiro. There will be pain there. And if Kuron survives seeing the real Shiro reunited with his mate, there is going to be a lot to be learned and a lot of emotions built up into it. I really feel sorry for all of them in that scenario.
