Had a little accident on my bike this morning. I'm fine, just had a piece of metal go through the tire (toast) and tube (also toast), get lodged behind the fork (surprisingly fine), stop the wheel (also surprisingly fine), and throw me over the bars. I was able to angle right and semi-soft land on someone's lawn (headfirst (helmet is probably not trustworthy anymore)). Since it's early January, people are still committed to their new year's resolutions, so there were many people out this morning. Most passed by like it was nothing. Except one woman who slowed down her e-bike to ask if I was alright. I started to say "Yeah, I think so," but as soon as I said "yeah" she sped away.

Seems like it hit somewhere on north-eastern side of Etna, where a seismic swarm has been occurring since yesterday.
