I can’t come to your house tonight The romance of you just took a flight For there were two things today that were bright A sunshine’s smile in an ebony’s child And a wise man with fire on his stride.

When I saw them - I saw a burst  of bliss, fireworks, and rhapsodies -  the wonders I felt when I held your hands.

One day you were gone After heatless nights Before the daylight’s paradise But I’m still your man And you’re still the one.

You were once a distant treasure Though last night I loved you in full measure But her smile and his wisdom filled me When you left me in ruins.

And they saw me; when you turned away They saw me; when I got lost finding your way.

Now you’re back -  As if you never turned your back. Now I’m falling, I have fallen I am falling in my fevered excavations.

When I saw them - I saw a burst  of everything that I am for. Yet I’m still yours, wind-blown  and tempestuously touched, I’m still yours.
