I had to go full no contact. The last time i saw my mother in person was in 2020 at my brothers wedding and i haven’t seen or talked to her since. I moved literally a week later so she conveniently no longer has my address unless someone goofs up lol. Ill never be able to permanently evade my moms text messages because she doesn’t have a permanent phone number to block but ive just developed the discipline to not read them when they come through and just go straight to blocking her. She tries to send me gifts all the time through my grandma / aunts and because they’re always laced with the most self victimizing flowery bullshit i just don’t open them. Even the gifts themselves are passive aggressive. There’s a box just sitting in my garage right now with my name on it that i haven’t touched lol. The hardest part of it all is just the fact that i haven’t seen my grandma who im very close with in a year because my mom moved in with her :-/

ETA since apparently this was unclear: Mahmoud Khalil is a horrible person and should be deported if he committed crimes, which it looks like he probably did. However, having his 4th Amendment rights violated is a big deal, and sets a precedent that could easily be weaponized against Jews/Israelis in the future. Everyone at Columbia who has broken the rules, from the highest to the lowest, should be sued. Ending funding to Columbia as a whole stops important research, doesn't make Jews safer on its own, and if anything increases animosity toward Jews as these leftist lunatics blame them for the Trump admin's moves.
