So quick OOC/bookkeeping post: Due to wanting to keep a clean dashboard for Doubt but also have a fallback from Twitter as it circles the drain, I am getting my original Tumblr back to functional to use as my mod blog rather then the one I have here. Follows for ask blogs will continue to come from here, but my follows to fellow mods and peeps will be coming from secondvendetta (https://secondvendetta.tumblr.com/) instead.
Turned on the TV and it was either playing Titanic or something that made me trauma flashback to Titanic and I AM NOT EMOTIONAL READY for that film to appear before my eyes....and had a minor internal meltdown before I changed the channel.
hi
so i know sm is getting a lot of shit for having tvxq promote (and consequently, articles and tweets are being misinterpreted and tvxq is getting the heat too).
i hope we all remember that
1) tvxq is handled by avex, not sm, in japan. it is usually very difficult to book korean artists and shows are scheduled a lot earlier. as such, it would have been incredibly inconsiderate for tvxq to cancel a live last-minute, as it does not allow for the show to find a replacement. by the japanese public, the hosts of sukkiri are being praised for handling the situation in the best possible way, as well as praising tvxq for holding themselves together in such a tough time.
2) tvxq’s japanese comeback was scheduled on the 20th (today), followed by their concert, followed by a korean comeback. an album release can’t be cancelled, only postponed. postponing one event causes a chain reaction of postponement in other activities as well, there are huge groups of people being affected by one action; there are huge management teams and staff that are working for each of these components, as well as the huge planning it takes in each. so far, all the korean schedules for every single artist in sm has been cleared. but tvxq is also tohoshinki, and they are considered japanese artists as well
3) from the second point, their tokyo-dome concert is a two-day, sold-out concert. cancelling it is practically impossible due to the huge amounts of refunds they would have to make, as well as the repercussions on the team that built their stage, handled the acoustics, the lights, not to mention the ticketing staff, etc etc. postponing such a large-scale concert in a short amount of time may be possible, but is not entirely feasible. this is because a) there would be fans who would need refunds as they would not be able to make it, and with postponements of concerts there are usually extra incentives the management needs to make in order for customer service. this doesn’t seem feasible due to the short time span that they had. b) postponement would lead to point 2, a chain postponement reaction
4) i understand that this may seem unfair, but let’s remember that changmin had to continue working even when his grandmother passed away. life is shitty and sometimes gets in the way of the important things. but i think what we have to remember is that tvxq are going through a tough time, and they were open about that during the concert, and even dedicated the concert to jonghyun. it’s important that instead of showing criticism towards their company actions (of which they are the face of), we show them support for working hard and trying to give all that they can despite the hardships they are facing.
James 1:6 (NIV) - But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
