Hi, just a quick question about your VOTD 大雨 I'm sure the second example should be のせい rather than のため I though のため was always used in more positive meaning while you use のせい when it's negative?

So you are right about ～のせい for a negative result, but ～のため can also be used for both positive and negative meanings. The difference is that ～のせい has more of a negative “blaming" tone or implication of fault whereas ～のため is more soft and neutral sounding.
This is just a side note but ～のおかげで is also commonly used when the result is positive. If it is used in a negative context it comes across as a bit sarcastic.
