FilmcowWeek Day 5!
Pretty basic answers but Everyone is Smiling and All Fell Down.
I like them both for the same reasons. Awesome instrumental(mostly EiS), great lyrics, and weasel butt rapping(mostly afd)
Honorable Mentions to Make Me Smile(I actually like this more than All Fell Down but cmon i cant draw the ferrets twice), In the Ocean Blue, Put a Banana in your Ear, and I Will Always Be Watching You
"Dress" by Norman Norwell, circa 1949.
coat + Norwell matching icons
āthe moral of the story is:Ā weāre married and we kiss. a ghost and a coat. and itās fine, itās great. get out of hereĀ if you donāt like it. we do other stuff too that Iām not gonna talk about. thatās it. thatās the song.ā
Norwell - IlluĢzioĢ - analog synth LP on Riverette
First solo album from Budapest producer "Norwell", includes 2 collaborations with Farbwechsel Label head honcho "Alpar". Analogue synthwave, kraut, kosmiche, drone... A real journey! IlluĢzioĢ was inspired by the book "Mr. Vertigo" by Paul Auster and especially by this part: "Deep down, I don't believe it takes any special talent for a person to lift himself off the ground and hover in the air. We all have it in us--every man, woman, and child--and with enough hard work and concentration, every human being is capable of...the feat....You must learn to stop being yourself. That's where it begins, and everything else follows from that. You must let yourself evaporate. Let your muscles go limp, breathe until you feel your soul pouring out of you, and then shut your eyes. That's how it's done. The emptiness inside your body grows lighter than the air around you. Little by little, you begin to weigh less than nothing. You shut your eyes; you spread your arms; you let yourself evaporate. And then, little by little, you lift yourself off the ground. Like so." Norwell blends an astute use of grainy analogue synths textures to modern electronic music structures to create a sound that resonates with every nooks and crannies of the human body.

Thanks for the tag @girls-books-coffee š
Last song: I Hear a Symphony by Norwell and Ira Wolf (Itās a masterpiece)
Last Movie: Breaking Dawn Part 2 (literally just finished and I sobbed at the credits again. I know so many people hate on the series and there are definitely problamatic things to note like there are in most things but it is so nostalgic for me and the books got me through some tough stuff when I was 11 so I will always love it. I cried harder when the song The Forgotten by Green Day played in the credits starting with the line āwhere in the world did the time go?ā because how am I 23??? And sometimes I get sad that life isnāt the way it was and youāll never get it back but also itās good and my life is better in many ways, you know? Thanks for reading my emotional tangent.
Currently Watching: Iām not really in the middle of watching anything right now. Iāll probably start season 2 of Dickinson soon.
Currently Reading: Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer
Currently craving: chocolate filled donut. OMG. I actually have one so that will be my snack. Lol.

On Mondays, I share a Spotify playlist of a few songs Iāve been enjoying. These could be new songs, new-to-me songs, or just ones Iāve been listening to a lot lately. I may switch it up occasionally and just feature a particular band or something, as well.
My ask box is always open (anons are welcome!), so feel free to let me know if you enjoy any of these songs, or if you want to recommend new ones to me!
Iām going to switch it up a little bit this year. Instead of having a different Spotify playlist every week, Iām going to have one playlist for the entire year, but each week Iāll post the tracklist of the songs Iāve added. That will prevent me having 50+ different playlists just for Music Monday for the year, and will also allow people to follow the playlist on Spotify. :)
