I loved Malory Towers so much, and I still do, because it taught me that everyone had something nice to give, and everyone was talented. It wasn't just Alicia or Darrell who were popular. Irene was a genius in maths and music, even though she was pretty 'scatter-brained'. Mavis had an awesome voice. Bill was so good with horses. Mary Lou was so shy you'd think she wouldn't be noticed, but she was so loved, and appreciated. Even Gwen became likeable in the last book. I loved the idea that as long as you were nice, and genuine, you would fit in. I need that kind of positivity in my life.
