My goal was to find a soap that checked the following boxes. 1. Packaging free 2. Local 3. Natural. It was my first time at Whole Foods and I stumbled upon a shelf of COMPLETELY naked bars. I was ecstatic. I smelled the blackberry (pictured above) and it smells so sweet. The best part? Itâs only $2.49 OR 3 for $5 which is amazing for a natural product.Itâs pretty much coconut and shea butter. I am totally going back for an unscented one to use on my face. It comes in a range of scents and vegan.Â
The company that does this soap is ALSO amazing. 100% of the profit goes to helping families and communities.Â
63% goes to Corporate Social Responsibility focusing on fair wages, and sustainable operations.Â
21% goes to Fair Trade Raw Material from AfricaÂ
10% goes to the Whole Planet foundation whose goal is to alleviate worldwide poverty.Â
6% goes to West African Community EmpowermentÂ

Itâs been a while since Iâve posted a recipe but Iâve got a super delicious and fun one for yâall today. It only takes a few ingredients which you probably have at home and itâs a 100% whole, plant-based meal that was easily made zero waste. Hereâs what youâll need:
Ingredients (serves 2)
1.5 cups rolled oats
1 ripe banana
1 cup of water or non-dairy milk (I used homemade sunflower seed milk!)
1 apple
Optional: cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, and any other toppings
Method
Start by adding the oats, banana and liquid to a blender (as well as any spices or vanilla) and blend until smooth. Once thatâs done, heat up a pan to about medium heat.
While waiting for that, slice your apple horizontally into fairly thin slices - youâll want at least 6 good ones.Â
Next, add some coconut oil to the pan, a few apple slices, and pour the pancake batter over the apple rings so theyâre fully covered. Cook for around 5 minutes, or until the edges are fully cooked, and flip. Cook for 2-3 more minutes or until set. Continue until youâve used up all the batter.
Now serve it up! Top it with homemade jam, nut butter, sweetener, fruit or anything else that you like! I topped mine with some homemade granola and fresh ground peanut butter.
This is a really fun breakfast thatâs perfect for the weekend. All the ingredients I used were found in bulk so it was totally waste free - enjoy!
Went out to get some sweets at my favorite dessert cafe. Brought my To Go Ware 3-Tier Stainless Steel Food Carrier to bring home the goodies. With this carrier, I don't use their Take Out Boxes. I bought a slice of tiramisu, a lemon bar and a cannoli. Although the cannoli was slightly too long to fit comfortably, it still was all theređ. For small items, I like to use this carrier and for left over foods at a lunch or dinner. For take out food, I'll use my 35 oz and 54 oz tupperware. âď¸đŻâťď¸đđ˝đ #zerowastewin #zerowastehome #zerowaste #takeout #takeoutfood #zerowastelife #zerowastedessert #zerowasteliving #designlifehacks #dessert #sweettreats #zerowastelifestyle #wastefreeshopping #tiramisu #zerotrash #nopackaging #lemonbar #cannoli #togoware #masonjar #plasticfreeforthesea (at Olympus Caffe & Bakery)

Made a good grocery haul ! fluffy quinoa.Â
En français plus loin
organic : quinoa, zucchini, onion and garlic. Bought in bulk, so no packages. Local but for the quinoa. Zucchini is out of season I know, so it probably grew in a greenhouse. Â
Recipe for this was a remix from @thekitchn fluffy quinoa I believe:
Warm up olive oil in a pan (deep enough) and add chopped onions and garlic (low heat)
When the onion is starting to look golden, add the rinsed quinoa. Let golden roast for about 2 minutes.Â
Add water (or broth). For 1 cup quinoa, 2 cups water. And bring to a boil.
Cook on medium heat (must be gently boiling, I cover mine) for 10ish minutes
Add thinly chopped zucchini, maybe eggplant or carrot (whatever you have lying around. If it is thickly chopped, put it in with the water).Â
Cook for another 5ish minutes (15 minutes total for the quinoa to cook, covered, in water). Then lower heat and cook another 5 minutes (open up, let evaporate). Salt, pepper, (cumin, turmeric, whatever spice you fancy).
Fluff and enjoy!
Particularly happy that it ended up enough for 3 small meals, and a total of 10 euros.Â
