people call noora a feminist icon and a revolutionary character but her story is a TRAGEDY. you cannot say that she didn’t lose something by being with william. she lost her autonomy, and even outside of the sexual assault plot line, she lost her ability to fully consent. she was coerced into the relationship by all other parties. season 2s main theme is defeat. and the end of s4 made me even more sad for her. william is a total piece of shit and it’s clear that she’s obsessed with him like young women unfortunately often get obsessed with men who are terrible to them. it’s framed in a positive light which, while i disagree with it, i can accept it because to her at this point in time it IS a beautiful thing. but if we saw noora’s story 5 years later, i would be very disappointed if it wasn’t about her realizing how poorly she’s been treated by william, and how her relationships have perpetuated the way her parents treated her. i really wonder what the creator truly thought of noora and william’s relationship.
