Typically feeds from fruit and plant juices. Oppurtunistic, will eat blood if given the chance.

Powerful wing muscles.

Large compound eyes.

All adults are female. Males die shortly after mating, or become female as they age.

Adults fight for territory.

Tail has a thin membrane, allowing infant needleflies to feed "milk" from it.
