the amount of straight people that have complimented my clothes and jewelry that have pride flags on them and not knowing what they mean is ASTOUNDING
The only bad thing about dating a pan person as a lesbian is sometimes I forget they're into men and it kinda jumpscares me sometimes. Like I'm joking around when I say I like that fictional man but they're fr and now I'm scared
Listen, when I say I'm gay for someone, it doesn't matter what their gender is. I'm non-binary. All of my attraction is gay. I'm gay for her and I'm gay for him. I'm gay for them and I'm probably gay for you too. I'm gay.

Non-binary Pansexual Kaito Momota icons with space themes for @aufaskuki !
in february i was on the phone with my aunt when my youngest cousin busted into her room and said “Mom, I’m nonbinary and pansexual,” to which my aunt says, “I don’t know what that means.” My cousin explained it to her and my aunt met them with the invalidating response of “you’ll always be my little [insert assigned gender at birth]”
i saw red,
so as my cousin leaves the room and my aunt and i continue our conversation, I text them and say, “hey loves, just checking if you want to still go by [dead name] or if there’s a better name for you,” and so this cousin tells me “I like the name [new name]” and I said, “Sounds good, [new name] <3″
my little cousin also follows me on tiktok, so they see some things I share that they probably shouldn’t, but them following me on tiktok has also given them the knowledge that I, too, am pansexual and nonbinary (which is comical considering I’m the eldest grandchild, they’re the youngest, and we are the only two with our assigned gender at birth). And I have to think, that perhaps I am doing something right, because today they texted me, “Hey, Leo, I am recoming out to you cuz I’m comfortable coming out to you i feel like what makes me most comfortable now is to go by he/they”
and when I say I teared up, I mean it.
So to this kid I said, “thank you for telling me! Is [previous name] still you, or has that changed too? Either way is fine, I just want to ensure I have the correct name in my phone and vocabulary,”
and I’m glad I asked because no, that is not his name. He has a new name, and I think it is absolutely lovely and I am so proud of the young man he is evolving into.
My biggest regret in moving out of state is leaving him behind.
Catch me fucking crying myself to sleep
