mitch's post-game interview with kyle bukauskas after his olympic game winning goal in overtime against czechia

"mitch, that goal against sweden last year in overtime was big [at the 4 nations face-off tournament], but how would you describe what you're feeling after scoring tonight?"

"yeah, I kind of saw I had a hole there. luckily enough, I was able to get it in a spot that I could get it off my stick and into a spot that I thought I had a chance to go in, and luckily enough, it did, so. but, I mean, just the whole game was a battle. guys didn't quit. you know, we stayed and trusted our systems and ourselves, and we got rewarded for it."

"what were those last few minutes like as you pushed to having to tie the game for a second time?"

"just keep pushing, keep trusting in what we're doing and know what will come. I think that's where you, you know, really take a lot of pride in our team and our group there. so we just stayed with our program, stayed with just pushing, and that was a massive tip by nick [suzuki]."

"you're saying miles may be still too young to remember all of this here at the olympics, but what does it mean to have a memory he will remember here at some point going forward?"

"yeah, like I was speaking to you about it yesterday, it's a special thing to have my son here. he just makes you feel so much love and so much calmness, and, you know, makes you kind of forget about your day job and a lot of days, so. yeah, it'll be a cool thing to look back with him at one point in time on the couch and just talk about this memory that he was a little guy for. I don't know, he might be sleeping, to be honest, in the crowd on mom, but it'll be something cool to look back with him especially."

"... and mitch marner winds up, and he's thinking about getting this over to celebrini, sees a little seam, and just keeps going! on his backhand, not sure if he's going to be a threat, kase playing the pass lane, simek playing the pass lane, and mitch marner, never a bigger goal than that right there. sending canada to the semifinals in overtime again. and to think, it's been a top heavy lineup. it was suzuki to tie. it was marner to win. they needed their depth to be difference makers, and they were, at the most clutch time required."
