I love how Aoba got through Noiz's thick skull that he was worthy of love and care as an actual human and Noiz in turn loved him so much in turn as to grow then come back for him after being concerned he hurt him.
The experiences of how he grew up, the true mystery of how he left Germany for Japan, and then little things like the hints that suggest he did things like sell his body to carve his life out in Midorijima (that was one line that suggests an entire story in itself and can we all like talk about that?????)...it's easy to see how that could run a number on his psyche. He went through a lot. Tbh, at 19 he was frankly a lot more responsible for himself than I think the story was willing to give him credit for, even if he did live on takeout and fucked around a bit.
Imo the two of them are the true poster boys of DMMD. Since playing Slow Damage I think of Noiz as a ReiTowa love child in a lot of ways. Also love love loveeee their bad endings. The retro one is fun with a lot of meaning about them escaping responsibilities into a very unchanged life, but the last CG in the second one is genuinely one of the best pieces of art in the entire game to me - it has such a great atmosphere.
Shipped because of canon because yeah and shipped in spite of canon because...yeah we all saw the ending to that route lmao. I love that he chose to become better for Aoba but the way he did it AND the loss of his rizz??? Boiiiii your family does NOT deserve you after what they did.
(Also side note: I once heard from one of the localisation team on the jast blue discord before release that somehow a lot of description and sounds of their first sex scene made it into the vita edition despite how Japanese console ratings boards are with this stuff, which they were shocked by when playing it for fun - my Japanese sucks but I NEED to play the vita version for myself just to see that if not Mizuki's route lmfao)
