Expectations
In the past, I have set myself goals, ignorant of how realistic those goals were, got disappointed when I didn’t succeed, and then went “See?! It doesn’t work!”
So, this time, I’m not setting expectations. I’m not setting any goals other than to improve from where I am now.
Instead, I’m going to treat these 3 weeks like an experiment.
I’m going to challenge those little voices at the back of my head whenever I think about getting healthy - “it probably won’t do anything”, “it won’t matter if I have another slice of pizza” “it will be too hard to change” - and I’m going to conduct a proper case study of myself.
Let’s find out what will happen.
Will it be as difficult as I worry it will be?
Will I lose weight, if so how much?
Will my skin clear up?
Will I sleep better?
Will I have more energy?
No matter what the outcome is, the question then will be Why.
If it is too difficult, why? Do I need to modify my journey? Is it simply a case of allowing my mind to adjust to new habits?
If I don’t lose weight, why? Not “oh for f*@%’s sake, WHY?!” but a scientific, analytical, why. Did I swap out the wrong foods, has my metabolism slowed down as a result of this change? Does it matter?
Sadness
I am pretty sad in general. I just feel awful about myself, about my nihilism. I am not involved in anything. I have no life what so ever. I want to avoid the struggle at all cost, but because of that, I pay with my life. I am a useless person who now has no point to live. I certanly have to find something to struggle for, something to live for, otherwise I just stop existing.
