The amount of people who question my ships, or ask me to âexplain myselfâ with them is ridiculous. So now Iâm creating this, explaining all of the Tolkien things I ship into a single post, so Iâll have it on the ready
Also, I have not read the Silmarillion, but I heard thereâs some good ships there too. Iâll update it when I get around to actually reading it
Aralas (Aragorn/Legolas): It took me many years to actually consume any Lotr media because I was so stubborn with it until I was like 15, so thatâs a bit of a whoops. But when I was a kid, I walked in on my parents watching one of the many endings of ROTK, the coronation one, and I saw the bit where Aragorn goes up to Legolas, and you know as like a seven year old I thought Legolas was a princess, and that the two of them were getting married, and believed that for many many years, and I kinda still do tbh. But also I just like the dynamic, they silly :)
Samfro (Frodo/Sam): The utter devotion my guy, like jeeeesus. This can be read as platonic if you want to, but like I struggle to do so because my goodness
Brandytook (Merry/Pippin): Dumbass 1 X Dumbass 2, what more can I say. Also, the scene where they find each other after the Battle of the Pelennor Fields. Also if anyone comes after me saying that theyâre cousins, cousins marrying each other seems to be very common and wildly acceptable in Hobbit culture, and also I donât care theyâre fictional characters.
Bagginshield (Thorin/Bilbo): Iâm not explaining this one, watch the Hobbit
Barduil (Thranduil/Bard): Single parent AU. No but fr, the two of them have such a great dynamic of âThe most eccentric and dramatic man youâve ever seenâ and âNormal fucking dudeâ. Itâs funny. Also they have good chemistry, but yeah itâs mainly cause I want Legolas and The Bardlings to be siblings lol
Tildamir (Tilda/Boromir): This one actually started way back when I made a âWhat if Tilda was in the fellowship AUâ, where I had her save his life after the three arrows to the chest, but also just in general bond and become friends. Things quickly evolved. Man whoâs willing to die to save those he loves X Woman whoâs willing to die for fun. Girlboss X Malewife, the roles are interchangeable. Tragedy hidden behind a thin veil of crack. It's lovely, idk what to tell ya
Ăowynstar (Ăowyn/Arwen): Itâs mainly cause I headcanon Arwen as a lesbian and thereâs like four female characters. Sigh. But itâs also like, butch lesbian x femme lesbian, smug lesbian x himbo lesbian, even tho I headcanon Wyn to be bi. I fully donât remember if they interacted in the books at all, I know they didnât interact in the movies cause I watched them yesterday, but like the potential
Ăomir/Faramer (Ăomer/Faramir): I never actually settled on a shipname there. This one settled in kinda because I was already shipping Ăowynstar, but like I still wanted to ship Faramir with someone, so boom hereâs her brother lol. Itâs still kinda fun tho, I like em
Nofur/Stolen Hats (Nori/Bofur): SILLIIIIIIIIIES. Bofur is one of my fave guys in The Hobbit, and I really love Nori too, so itâs only natural. But yeah this oneâs just for the vibes
Elrondir (Elrond/Lindir aka Figwit): I just think Lindir is very funny man, like shout out to him. But yeah I like Elrond, I think he deserves a nice twink husband, and like Iâm not against some power dynamics in my ships
Sigriel (Sigrid/Tauriel): Both of them just deserve a wife. Itâs funny, cause like unlike the other two bardling ships, Sigriel is semi popular in the fandom, but Iâm out here shipping them very differently than everyone else since my Sigrid is so different. Free spirited elf lady X Woman with the entire world on her shoulders, and it shows. Theyâre just meant for each other, I canât explain it
Vivainmarind (Vivian/Bain/Kamarind) Yes Iâm including XOC ships, the Bardlings are pretty much ocs at this point so like screw you. Genuinely, I just kinda needed someone for Bain to get together with to have his son, Brand, so I just pulled two characters from the oc jar, cause I also really wanted it to be a polyam ship. Genuinely though, theyâre very cute and supportive, no angst to be found (except for the fact that Bain will definitely die before them, but shhhhhhh)
Saruman/Gandalf: I donât ship them as a couple, I ship them as divorced. Saruman fumbled hard
I think I failed at this actually cause half of them time my explanation is just âItâs just vibes man!â which honestly thats fair enough of an answer, and I donât think I should have to apologise for that
