Is it even possible to have a zero covid strategy for any country? Or are we supposed to learn to live and cope with Covid as a way of life? My country saw the opportunity to lift and ease covid safety measures as it sees fit when majority of the covid cases experience mild symptoms or none at all even when they were tested positive. It is a calculated move though risky, but as long as there are people watching the trend (I hope so) policy makers can make quick decisions to change things. The priority, get the people vaccinated; differentiated rule to protect the unvaccinated ones; reduce and protect severe cases and try not to overwhelm the heath care system. Educated the people to stay vigilant and to know the consequences of an uncontrolled spread. Yes opening the economy is important provided it is not sacrificing the health status of the people. Kudos to the policy makers and the civil servants who have worked many hours sacrificing their family time to help the country to overcome the crisis. We have all taken for granted that this is how a country should be run, thus failing to appreciate those people behind the scene. Take a look at how another country runs you would know that such is unnatural.
