I like how, despite lacking the piece that is traditionally what lingers after death when unsatisfied (the heart, or in non-kh context, the soul), Nobodies are characterized by their attachments, while Heartless, actually composed of the heart, are unbound by it. The roles are swapped- the Heartless hunts for more hearts based on little more than instinct, like a zombie, and a Nobody is something that has such great desire for something spiritual that it keeps on going by sheer force of will, like a ghost
Is there anyone who's also play this game ? I like it so much that I plan to write a fanfiction about it.
Do we even have a fandom for it ?
thoughts on nobodies regrowing hearts
While I do enjoy the themes that this concept brings, the idea that even if an absolutely integral part of you (your *soul*) is lost, that's not the end, there's still healing that can happen, you won't be numb forever, light and love will come back to you... all that.
But on the other hand, does it really make sense logistically?
What happens to the original heart when the new one grows in? Does that mean that there would be two hearts of the same person? Is it an infinite heart farm glitch? Make someone into a nobody, take their heart, wait for them to grow a new one, rinse and repeat? Or are they like. Resummoning their original heart back out of the ether a little at a time?
And does that make the idea of recompletion by destroying the heartless and nobody with a keyblade completely irrelevant (outside of wanting to bring back characters who would otherwise be super dead)? When does a nobody become a person again and lose all of the weird nobody tendencies, what's the threshold there?
And does it take away from the horror and existentialism from being essentially a soulless corpse (nobodies are technically undead, aint that wild?) longing for your heart back?
There are questions in this world.
yesterday i was dirty, wanted to be pretty, i know now that im forever dirt

I’ve seen a few people make orgxiii designs where they look more like lesser Nobodies which is True☝️+awesome but I also think it would be fun if they looked more undead. I think there’s an intentionally irony to Axel joking about Roxas being a zombie in Days when that’s kind of just what a Nobody is. You die. You come back to life weird, missing major brain functions. You endlessly hunger for a specific body part. You’re essentially a husk of a body able to drift along with the remaining cognitive function you do have. They should start rotttingggggggg
