Batman Prompt 20 - Written
Batman has many contingency plans, and they don't just apply to people.
They also apply to his day-to-day life.
Batman likes to write everything by hand and then convert it into text (using technology)
*I feel like with the Batman we have now, everyone forgets that he was made in 1939, which was before most technology was invented. We often see Batman as a tech-savvy character (which isn't wrong), but we forget that it didn't start this way.
While many things of Batman's run on technology, nothing relies on it. Almost everything he uses can be used any time; without power.
He knows that, despite technology's great uses and advancements, it can still fail. Work can be deleted, one crash can ruin lots of hard work, and so on. (He, of course, backs up everything at least 2 times, but he also does more.)
When there is no access to technology at all, how are you going to get the documents you need?
By having a physical copy, of course!
Not only because it is foolproof but because he just likes it better than typing. His thoughts flow better over paper, he only goes straight to typing if it will be edited a lot.
Batman is a very fast writer and typist.
Also, the whole Manor and cave can still work without any electrical power. While the cave can't run to its full capabilities, the manor can.
The manor is old, and much of it hasn't changed. It has had some work done for maintenance, and improvements here and there.
If the power is gone, they have multiple gas lamps, salt fridges, ways of heating, and washing.
The entire Batfamily was also trained to be able to hunt, do anything without the use of technology.
The family library isn't just holding fiction works, but also helpful informational texts, so that research can still be done without the internet.
Pretty much anything you need technology/power/internet to do, they can do without, though Bruce and Alfred are by far the most capable in these situations.
