a/n: thank you to everyone who asked for a second part! things have been a little bit busy lately, so i apologize that itâs taken me a while to get this done. though i hope you enjoy this second part nonetheless! thank you again! (also super duper not beta read again haha sorry guys)
two weeks had passed since that nightâthe night your friendship with your lifelong best friend had been completely obliterated by no one else but you.
the lonely chill youâd felt on the morning youâd waken up in your bed alone had carried itself with you for the next two weeks. you had hoped and prayed that ellie wouldnât leave you if you ever let it slip that you thought of her as more than your best friend, but it seemed that your prayers had been left unanswered.
the memory of that morning had seared itself into your mind; sun shining through the gap of your bedroom curtains, the light breeze that fluttered through them, the wonderful feeling of a good nightâs sleep you hadnât felt in weeksâoverall a beautiful morning, or it wouldâve been if it werenât for the empty spot on your bed next to you.
it wouldâve been if it werenât for the confirmation that youâd ruined what was probably the most precious relationship in your life.
it wouldâve been if ellie hadnât left.
youâd scarcely seen her since then. aside from a few short inevitable encounters around the schoolâspotting her at practice or walking around campusâshe was back after you slept and gone before you woke up.
you hadnât even realized shed been coming by at night until you noticed the missing spiderman comic that had previously occupied the surface of her dresser.
and there was only so much more that you could take.
youâd initailly been heartbroken at the realization that youâd lost her, but sometime during the past two weeks, you couldnât exactly identify when, the tears and heartbreak had slowly boiled into anger, simmering beneath your skin, nearly ready to explode.
you shouldnât have given in to temptation, you knew that, but you thought that you at least deserved an explanation. it was ellie who dared you to kiss her, who decided to take a normal, stupid sex joke seriously, who fucked you so good she had you seeing starsâthe point was you needed to talk to her.
it hurt to be left like this, abandoned like some one night stand. ellie wasnât some one night stand, she was your best friend, your ellie. you loved her more than she could comprehend. it was hell to not have her in your life.
and so tonight you were determined. you were going to get your best friend back. you didnât care if she didnât see you as more (well, you did but), you just wanted her to stop avoiding you, for things to go back to the way they were.
you would rather be in her life, watching and loving and longing without any reciprocation, than not be in it at all.
you were sat cross legged on your bed, laptop opened infront of you in case you miraculously managed to get some work done despite the anxious turning in your stomach.
your eyes flitted up to the door so often you were starting to get dizzy, your ears overly sensitive to any sound or motion from beyond your bedroom door. ellie had to come home at some point, and you would catch her when she did.
it was only a matter of time until you heard the familiar tread of your best friendâs footsteps down the hall. you felt your body tense as they stopped before your door, heart beating rapidly as you watched the doorknob turn.
words couldnât describe the relief you felt at the sight of the familiar face. she stared back at you, wide-eyed, as you took her in.
she looked tired, as if a veil of exhaustion had been draped over her face, dulling the spark in her eyes that wouldâve otherwise been more visible.
you felt the anger simmer down as she watched you from the doorway. right now, you wanted nothing more than to leap up and give her the tightest hug.
you watched as ellieâs eyes flickered down the hall, tempted to run, before they settled back on you.
sensing there was no way out of this that wouldnât make her look insane, she carefully stepped into the room, gently closing the door behind her.
âhey.â she greeted softly, one arm lifting into an awkward wave.
âhi.â you smiled tightly, slightly breathless.
ellie kept her eyes trained on the ground as she approached the dresser on her side on the room. you watched her tongue poke the inside of her cheek as she thought of something to say.
âhowâd you, uh, know i was coming?â
ellieâs eyes flickered up cautiously, chancing a glance at you, before flitting back down to the floor when your eyes caught hers.
âwell you like, live here, soâŚâ you replied, internally cursing the warmth beginning to fill your head. you watched your roommate from across the room as she leaned over her dresser, back facing you.
âoh, well-yeah no, right-â an awkward pause settled between you as you watched ellie shift her weight on the dresser uncomfortably. âi just thought-i-like, i havenât been around lately, and-â
she turned around to face you, leaning back against the dresser as hands still tightly gripped the top of it. her eyebrows were raised, top lip gnawing on the bottom, as she stared at you, looking fairly surprised at your response.
perhaps it was all the time away from her, but you felt a sudden wave of fondness wash over you.
it was easy to tell when ellie was nervous, her face wouldnât be able to sit still.
âellie,â you began softly, surprised at the way the tension left her body at the sound of her name on your lips, âcan we talk, please?â
she looked away, huffing, as she turned back around to her dresser. you felt a twinge of anger bubble up. she was annoyed at you?
still, you watched as she rummaged through her drawer, patiently waiting for a response.
âhello?â you called a little louder when there was no reply, annoyance now clear in your voice.
you heard ellie scoff as she shot you a look over her shoulder. âtalk about what?â she turned back to her dresser, beginning to carelessly toss clothes onto her bed. you watched her back as she worked, speechless at her attitude.
âiâm just here so i have some clothes at dinaâs. then iâll be out of your hair and weâll never have to see each other again, ok?â
your heart just about broke at the mention of never seeing ellie again. you felt hot, angry tears begin to well in your eyes, clouding your vision. how could she say that? and dina? her ex-girlfriend? what was that about?
âthereâs only a few more weeks before the semesterâs over. i can find another roommate soon-â you watched as ellieâs blurry figure turned around to face you once more, trailing off of her venom-laced assurance as she caught sight of you; angry tears spilling from your eyes, rolling quickly down your cheeks.
a look of regret made its way onto ellieâs face instantly, but you were too hurt and angry to care.
ânever see me again? really?â you asked lowly, voice shaking. âyou were the one who dared me to kiss you, ellie! the least you owe me is an explanation!â your arms moved frantically as you sprung up from your seat on your bed, voice steadily increasing in volume.
âi-i waited for you, did you know that? the morning you left? i thought youâd, like, left to get fucking breakfast or-or something! i nearly waited for you the whole day! i felt so stupid.â
you wiped at your eyes furiously, tears soaking your arm through the little, teal cardigan wrapped around your shoulders.
you stared at ellie, fuming, manicured nails digging crescents into your palmsânow formed into tight fists.
ellie just stared back, speechless. she watched as anger filled your face the same time it completely drained from hers, now replaced with some mix of regret and apology.
you wanted to look away, unable to stand the look of hurt on ellieâs face, but you didnât. you pressed on.
âi was devastated when i woke up here alone,â you pointed to your bed furiously, âbut then you didnât show up for the rest of the day. i didnât see you then, or the day offer that, or any day for the next two weeks!â
you paused, sucking in a shaky breath, before you continued. âi-it was heaven when i finally kissed you, it was like-like-confirmation that you liked me back and i didnât have to constantly fear the destruction of our friendship every time i was around you!â you sobbed.
âthen you left.â your voice broke.
ellieâs expression suggested her heart broke along with it.
you suddenly felt tired, anger spent, as you cried to yourself in the middle of the room, hugging your trembling shoulders.
you looked up at ellie, voice fragile, as an endless river of tears flowed down your face. âwhy did you leave?â
your question was quiet, no more than a whisper, yet it seemed a great impact on ellie. she looked away, exhaling shakily, letting go of the dresser as she nervously wrung her fingers.
âi-â she began, before quickly closing her mouth at the tremble in her voice. she sucked in a breath, trying again. âi didnât want to.â
âi didnât-i didnât want you to get hurt-â
âellie, what the hell are you talking about?â
she took a step forward, closing the distance between you. ây-youâyouâre my-look,â she let out a trembling breath, trying her best to steady herself.
âiâve known you my whole fucking life. and you are the only person whoâs stuck with me all the way a-and is still here.â
you watched her as she struggled to continue, throat too sore from your confession to send out a retort.
âi didnât even realize it until joel died, butâ she swallowed, fighting back tears. âyouâre all i have left.â
she looked to you, gaze intense as she spoke.
âyouâre all i have.â
the mention of her father caught you by surprise. she rarely talked about him, even with you. but still, you didnât get it.
âso you avoid any contact with me for half a month?â
âi thought weâd get over it!â
you shot her an incredulous look âwha-?â
âi thought maybe after sometime i could come back! ands we could go back to being normal!â
you opened your mouth once more to respond, but ellie continued.
âwhat, you think it wasnât hard for me? being apart from you that long? i love you! those were the worst fucking weeks of my entire life!â
you closed your mouth, angry response dead on your tongue as you registered her confession. your brain had seemed to cease all function. you stared at her, speechless.
ellie took another step forward towards your stunned body. âi canât lose you.âshe said softly, ânot over a stupid decision i made after a few shots of shit beer!â
finally, youâd recovered enough from her words to regain control over your mind and push out a reply, some assurance, something, before you lost her again.
âels, you wonât lose me. iâm right here. we can try things out and-and if things donât work we can go back to normal-â
âthis,â she gestures to the space between you two, âall this, is literal fucking proof we canât just âgo back to normalâ. i was stupid to think so.â
you were standing face to face now, a hairâs breadth apart, in the exact same spot where all this began.
you looked at her for a second, eyes boring into her own, scanning, digging past fear and guilt and regret, until you finally found it; the tiniest spark of hope. the reason people ever tried anything at all. a thought that maybe, just maybe, there was a chance for this to work out.
you cupped ellieâs face gently, hands gliding against soft, freckled skin, as your eyes met hersânow threatening to spill over with tears.
you spoke softly, voice no more than a whisper, yet full of a certainty you werenât sure you believed yourself.
âyou wonât lose me.â
âhow do you know that?â ellie croaked, throat sore from keeping the tears from falling.
âi donât. but isnât it worth it to try?â
you leaned in closer, stopping a few inches from her face, thumbing her cheek lovingly as your eyes silently asked for confirmation.
ellie nodded instantly, eyes eager and desiring as they gazed intensely into yours, muttering a soft âplease.â
that was all it took before your lips were pressed to hers, tender yet passionate.
you felt the tension fade from your shoulders. the sadness and worry of the last two weeks slipping from your memory as you finally felt her skin against yours.
right now it was just her, and you.
you felt her hands make their way to hold your face as her lips began moving faster, kisses growing more and more confident.
âmmh-fuck.â she moaned into kiss. you donât know how bad she needed this. sheâd been touch starved all week.
your arms slid down to rest on her shoulders as you gasped against her mouth.
ellie seemed to take this as an invitation to do the same.
she kissed you harder, letting out all sorts of noises you never thought youâd get to hear beyond your wildest dreams.
you hadnât realized youâd been moving until your back hit the wall with a soft thud.
ellieâs body pressed against yours, hands tangled in your hair as she kissed down your neck before returning to your lips once more to undo the top button of your cardigan.
you smiled against her lips, âyouâre not gonna lose me. i wonât let that happen.â
she seems to pause for a second at your words, pulling away to look at you, relief pooling in her heart when she realized you really meant it.
ellie was back on you before you could register what was happening, sliding your cardigan off as she slotted her knee between your legs, waves of pleasure washing through your body at the friction.
âgod, els.â you gasped into her mouth, grinding desperately against her knee. your hands cradled her head as she moved lower down your body.
you tugged on her hair a little, causing her to groan against your skin, heated and needy. âi missed you so fucking much.â
suddenly, you felt ellie pull her knee out from between your legs, whining at the sudden loss of friction.
âah-ellie? whatâre you-?â
you felt ellieâs hands push your chest, as you landed on the bed backwards, with a soft âoof!â.
she bent down quickly, positioning her body between your legs as she leaned over you, planting a quick kiss on your lips before getting back up to leave. âjust gimme a sec, kay?â
you whined once more at the sudden loss of contact.
you heard her chuckle from across the room as she rummaged around her dresser. âdamn. you want me that bad?â
you almost giggled. how long had it been since youâd heard her talk to you like that? familiar and comfortable.
curious as to what she was doing, you pulled your head up from the mattress only to be greeted with the sight of ellie, standing before you, looking down in deep focus as she fastened her strap.
the corner if her mouth drew upwards when she noticed your staring.
âsorry i didnât get to use it last time, butâ, she drew closer, that goddamn smirk of hers spreading wider on her face, âi can make it up to you now.â
she lowered herself once more, leaning in closer so that her lips just barely brushed your ear, as she whispered, âyâknow, if you want me to.â
it seemed like an eternity before her lips, now shiny and red from your previous ministrations, finally pressed against yours, drawing you into a kiss.
she hovered above you, right between your legs. one arm propped her body up as the other made its way down to your pajama pants, slithering under your soaked underwear.
âellie-hah! ah!â you gasped when she finally slid inâlong, lithe, dexterous fingers working your pussy so good it seemed like sheâd been doing this forever.
she let out a muffled noise against your neck, half laugh, half groan, as her other hand gave your tits some much needed attention.
your nipples had been peeking out from under your thin, little tank since ellie had slid that tiny cardigan off of you. sheâs honestly been dying to feel them again.
she slid her free hand under your shirt, rolling her thumb over the sensitive bud, as her other hand continued to work your cunt, now somehow even wetter than before.
âfuck, baby, youâre so tight.â she groaned against your skin, pressing a wet trail of kisses along your collarbone.
you felt her lips pull into a smile. âthink youâre ready for me?â
you nodded pathetically as she lined herself up at your entrance, turning you into a whimpering mess as she eased into you, all the way to the hilt.
âels-ah! s-so big-fuck!â
she grinned from above you, eyeing you hungrily as she watched your fucked out expression. âaww, am i too big, baby?â she cooed meanly, smirking as she teased you. âcâmon, babe. you can take it, canât you? for me?â
âmhmm-ah! hah!â you babbled in response, as she pulled out to the tip before thrusting back into you.
ellie pounded into you, the sound of her strap plunging into your wet cunt filling the room along with your fucked out moans.
âfuuuuuck.â you heard ellie drawl as she continued to thrust into you, âyouâre so pretty when youâre all fucked out like this, yâknow that?â
ellie kept her pace, steady and determined, yet simultaneously lost in pleasure, as you felt the familiar knot in your stomach tighten.
you suddenly heard a high pitched moan erupt from ellieâs lips as her pace grew faster, sloppier, the base of her strap bouncing deliciously against her clit. her moans began to fill the room alongside yours as she chased her own high.
âs-shit. i-i think iâm gonna cum.â
you held her body close to yours, hands wrapping around her back as she pounded into you. you craned your neck upwards until your lips brushed her ear, moaning desperately as you reached your high.
â-llie, i-mmh! love you-ah! hah!â
that was enough to send her over the edge.
ellie moaned into your mouth, keeping her lips on yours as she came, hips rolling and stuttering as she struggled to keep a steady pace, the pleasure of her own orgasm rippling through her.
you moaned into the air, hands gripping ellieâs back tightly as she worked you both through your high. âf-fuck! ell-ngh! ah!â
ellie fucked you through all of it, muttering curses and praises as she pressed wet kisses all over your body, eventually slowing down as the remnants of your orgasm rippled away, leaving you a whimpering, overly sensitive mess.
she rested on top of you for a moment, finally stopping, before pushing herself up on her arms to face you.
âdamn.â she breathed, still panting slightly. âyou look fucked up.â
a laugh escaped your throat. âi look fucked up?â you raised your eyebrows in question. âyouâre certainly one to talk.â
a shit eating grin spread across ellieâs face as she lowered herself, resting her head on your chest, muttering a soft âshut up.â
your arms reached up to rest on her head, fingers toying with strands of her warm, auburn hair, as you heard her breathing even out.
âhey, ellie?â you whispered, unsure if she was still awake, only continuing when you heard a muffled âhmm?â
âwhere do we go from here?â
you felt her tense a little at the mention of tomorrowâforeign and frightening.
âyou, uh, still wanna try things out?â she looked up at you, face pulling into a bashful grin.
you smiled, pulling her face down to yours and planting a kiss on her lips, soft and simple and certain. âyeah, i do.â
the next morning came before you knew it.
your eyes fluttered open to see the sunlight floor, lacy shadows dancing, as you felt an unfamiliar warmth at your side.
you turned to meet it, and there she was.
you just stared at her, soft and sweet and thankful, as her body rose and fell with steady breaths.
you wanted to reach out, cup her cheek, brush the hair out of her face, but you didnât for fear of waking her.
âyou just gonna keep staring, orâŚ?â
you stared in slight surprise as ellieâs eyes fluttered open. âwha-?â
she smiled, cutting off your question as she leaned in to kiss you. âfinally awake, huh?â
you watched her sit up slowly, shivering slightly as she covers moved with her, exposing your skin to the chilly air.
âcome on, iâm taking you to get coffee.â she said, pulling a shirt over her chest.
you blinked in puzzlement, the haziness of sleep only just starting to fade from your mind. âcoffee?â you asked, confused.
âwhat? i canât take my girlfriend out for coffee?â
you stared, stunned, as the events of the previous night rushed back to you, causing a flustered heat to fill your face.
she chuckled at your silence, soft and affectionate, before leaning down and kissing you on the nose. âcome on, letâs go. you have a lecture at nine.â
you shook yourself awake, the events of last night fully recalled in your brain, as the widest grin spread across your face.
ellie grinned back at you, tossing you a shirt, âyou look insane.â she said as you caught it. âwhat? dâyou have memory loss or something?â
âmm, no.â you leaned back in bed, propping yourself up on your elbows, âbut maybe you could remind me anyway?â
she paused at your words, as they slowly registered in her mind. she laughed to herself, smiling at the ground. âyouâre gonna be late.â
you giggled, biting your lip. âhmm, i dunno. youâre usually pretty fast.â
she shook her head, smiling as she moved closer. âyou sure, babe?â
she leaned over you, arms holding her body up against the mattress as her lips brushed your ear, as she whispered.
âfinals are next week.â
that seemed to grab your attention. âfuck.â
ellie giggled, pushing herself up and climbing off the bed. she held out a hand to pull you out of bed. âcome on.â
reluctantly, you took it, rolling your eyes as your lips formed into an exaggerated pout. âfine.â
ellie chuckled lowly as she pulled you up by the arm.
