They know sign language fluently, but you'd never guess it unless you were actively on a mission with them. Which is rare because they're intentionally awful to work with, they like working solo.

They learned it fluently specifically for silent missions, which proved even more useful once they lost their lower jaw. But instead of using the common language they learned to communicate without their mouth, they're a menace and will either do vague gestures while you flounder trying to figure out what they mean, or they'll simply refuse to engage with you at all. The secret third options is writing, if they think making you wait only to read something rude is very very funny.

1. Where did they grow up/spend their early years?

Rata Sum! Real central city kid kind of asura, and absolutely acts cocky about it. Went to school there, made friends there, fell in and out of an inquest crowd...and then spent the rest of their life ruining things for the inquest cause they're fuckin lame-ass nerds uvu

4. How do they feel about their past/younger self?

They'll admit they made some stupid fucking decisions, but overall they don't regret any of it. Those experiences lead to where they are today which they quite enjoy! Aside from the whole jaw situation, they'd prefer to still have their lower jaw.

5. How do they feel about their family? Chosen and/or biological?

3. What parts of themselves do they tend to hide?

Other than the mouth situation lmao they honestly don't hide much! It's part of why they're considered to be such a little shit around the Order of Whispers and a lot of people don't particularly love team missions with them. Nixxte is wholely themself and ready to cause trouble. They openly admit they don't play well with others and have a compromised moral compass.

4. How do they punish themselves when they make mistakes?

A mistake can get them killed so fast in their line of work, something their prosthetic jaw is a constant reminder of. A particularly grievous mistake means they'll be spending the next few nights repeating the scenario ad nauseam until they can complete it flawlessly.

9. What are their insecurities?

None! They're extremely confident, to their own detriment in many ways. Even if there's something they don't immediately know, they're positive they can sort it out within sufficient time still. Their one sore spot is any mention of how they lost their lower jaw since it meant a mission failed.

15. What do they like/dislike about themselves?

They like how smart they are, how their small stature makes infiltration a breeze. Dislikes include when their overconfidence leads to a mistake (which they will hide from anyone to their utmost ability), and the way their small stature gets hem underestimated.

What parts of their childhood trigger them?

None of her childhood triggers her in a literal sense, while she didn't like her upbringing it was in no way negative to a detrimental or traumatizing degree! The closest you'd come is stated below in 7.

7. What emotions or situations do they try to avoid? Why?

She avoids scholarly situations like the plague. While she was a good student when it came to her grades, she was a huge "problem" behaviorally because the schools didn't accommodate her blatant ADHD. Any educational system situation immediately makes her uncomfortable and she braces for someone telling her off. She's very very glad she dropped out of school and never looked back.

13. What is their relationship with their family like?

On the mend! While her parents were disappointed in her for dropping out of school and running off, they see how far she's come and how she's applied herself to gain a position she's happy in. Letters are being sent back and forth, and apologies have been made. While she's not ready to face them directly yet, Tvelle and her parents are getting there.

15. What do they like/dislike about themselves?

Aw sorry you can't find em easily around here! They're very fleshed out and i do love them dearly. They have the tag #nixxte on my blog for every post about em, but I know tumblr can be complete ass about showing that sometimes. First off, this post

Nixxte is an OoW agent who specializes in sabotage of inquest and other enemy faction tech, but they're especially great with inquest and asuran tech. Not a very constructive person so much as destructive, and that tendency leaks into their general personality and life as well.

While their eyes are quite striking, their most notable feature is actually lower down on their face. Their mechanical prosthetic lower jaw! They had an incident one time, when a job went wrong and the guards were alerted to their sabotage mission, which resulted in losing their entire lower jaw during their hasty escape. The prosthetic moves well enough for them to manage speech still if they so choose, but they don't love the feeling so opt more often for sign language these days.

This lack of speech is a bit of a godsend for their coworkers now, they can be a bit of an ass with an attitude for the fun of it. And they also will start fucking with OoW tech if they aren't given missions often enough. Real meddlesome gremlin of a little guy!
