Just wanted to share some commissions that @giselsann created for Mapping Your Love. The first two are brand new pics. I will start publishing the story later this week!
Congratulations! You have been selected for admission to Nivalis School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Canada’s premier institution for magical education.
Founded in 1713 in the Long Range Mountains, Newfoundland, Nivalis is known for its rigorous academics, its integration of Indigenous magical practices, and its natural beauty.
As an incoming student, you may familiarize yourself with the following resources prior to arrival:
A House Guide, including a placement quiz

Welcome to the North. Bring a scarf.
Sincerely,
Dr. Isolde Verrier
Headmistress, Nivalis School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
Okay so this whole project started because I couldn’t wrap my head around Ilvermorny being the only magical school for both the U.S. and Canada. So naturally, I created a full-blown Canadian wizarding universe, and to bring it all to life, I’ve started a long fic called True North; a part mystery, part slow-burn romance, and part coming-of-age tale all set in a modern AU post Hogwarts Legacy.
This world has been a passion project shaped by folklore, Canadian identity, and the collaborative imagination of so many wonderful fandom friends, so much so that I’m thrilled to say that so many of their wonderful OCs make appearances and cameos throughout the story.
A very, very special thanks goes to @sunnyrealist and @dreamy-gal-30. From late-night lore dumps to unhinged brainstorm sessions, this world wouldn’t exist without them. They’ve helped shape Nivalis from the very beginning, and I’m endlessly grateful to have their hearts and brains in this story.
With that in mind, I’m so excited to share an excerpt from one of the earlier chapters, featuring mine, @sunnyrealist’s, and @dreamy-gal-30’s OCs (Willow and Bee, respectively) who star in this story! Another special thanks goes out to @giselsann for the stunning artwork she created to go along with this chapter:
Bee stretched like a satisfied cat, arms overhead, grinning like she’d just won a duel without lifting her wand. “This is better than any gossip column. Two of Nivalis’s most popular witches are completely undone by transfer boys.”
Willow groaned and let her head fall back against the chair. “They’re not just—ugh. Shut up.”
“Ominis is very handsome,” Bee said, clearly enjoying herself. “That perfectly clear, porcelain skin, the cheekbones, the eyelashes—”
“His eyes, too,” Willow mumbled, then immediately looked horrified with herself. “I mean, just objectively. You know. As a fact.”
Bee gasped like she’d just been handed a gift. “Willow.”
Evangeline sat up with a wicked grin, but Willow was already rounding on her.
“Don’t you look at me like that, I’m not the one who's been eyeing the brunette like he’s a limited-edition chocolate frog card.”
“Excuse me?” Evangeline gasped.
Willow crossed her arms. “All I’m saying is, if I get grilled for appreciating Ominis Gaunt’s face, then you don’t get to pretend you’re any different.”
Evangeline’s glare could’ve set parchment on fire.
Meanwhile, Bee was yanking her phone from her pocket like a reporter at the scene of a scandal. “Hold on, hold on, this needs to be documented for posterity.”
Willow groaned. “Bee, no.”
Bee ignored her completely, lifting her phone and snapping a photo of Willow and Evangeline’s matching scowls.
“Delete that,” Evangeline said sharply.
“Not a chance,” Bee replied, quickly getting to her feet.
Willow lunged from her seat, but Bee twisted away, clutching the phone to her chest like it was a sacred artifact.
“Give me the phone, Bee,” Evangeline warned, slowly rising like a storm cloud gathering over a lake. “Or so help me, I will hex your eyebrows off.”
Bee shrieked with laughter, darting toward the far side of the room. “You wouldn’t!”
“Try me,” Evangeline deadpanned, her wand already halfway out.
Willow was still in the chase, grabbing a throw pillow from the couch and wielding it like a weapon. “I’ll hold her down!”
“You’re both unhinged!” Bee howled, ducking behind an armchair and narrowly avoiding a flying cushion. “This is a gross overreaction to a very important moment in your romantic development!”
“We’re not having romantic development!” both girls shouted at once.
Bee peeked over the armchair, triumphant. “Denial. Stage one.”
“Stage one of your funeral, maybe,” Evangeline muttered, advancing with menace.
“Oh, please. You’re just mad because I’m right,” Bee said, voice smug despite the fact that her back was now pressed firmly against the bookshelf.
Willow pointed an accusatory finger. “You are the worst.”
“I am an agent of truth and chaos,” Bee corrected, utterly unrepentant.
Evangeline came to a stop in front of her, eyes narrowed but lips twitching. “One more word and I swear, I’ll never help you in arithmancy ever again.”
Bee gasped. “You wouldn’t weaponize arithmancy against me. That’s cruel and unusual punishment.”
“Desperate times,” Evangeline said coolly.
“Fine, fine!” Bee relented, raising her hands in surrender. “Cease fire! I’ll delete the photo. After you both admit I’m right.”
Willow groaned and dropped onto the nearest armchair. “I’d rather fight the Greenwood Wendigo barehanded.”
“Same,” Evangeline muttered. “I’d prefer a mythical beast to whatever this is.”
Bee beamed. “That sounds like a yes to me.”
“Bee,” Evangeline warned,
“Alright, alright, alright,” The auburn haired witch huffed. “You’re both no fun. I’m deleting it, see? Gone. Poof. Like your chances of pretending you don’t care.”
Evangeline arched an eyebrow. “You’re sure that wasn’t a decoy?”
“I’m offended by the lack of trust in this room,” Bee said solemnly.
The tension held for a moment longer, then all three of them burst into laughter, loud and uncontrollable. When the giggles subsided, they collapsed in a heap on the floor, quiet and a little breathless.
Willow pressed the back of her hand to her forehead like a tragic heroine. “Ugh. Having a crush sucks.”
Evangeline let her head fall sideways to rest against Willow’s shoulder. “It’s undignified. I used to be mysterious.”
“You were never mysterious,” Bee said, sprawled beside them, her smile smug.
“He’s just… frustratingly symmetrical.” Evangeline said weakly.
“Exactly!” Willow chimed in. “Like, what kind of person has perfect bone structure and such pretty eyes? That’s cheating!”
Evangeline nodded solemnly. “My whole brain’s just… brown eyes and freckles.”
Bee clicked her tongue. “Oh no. Feelings. The horror.”
“You say that now,” Willow said darkly, “but one day, it’ll be you. Your hoe phase will end and you’ll fall for someone inconvenient with perfect eyebrows, and we’ll be merciless.”
Bee raised a hand. “I accept this future. But until then, I will be judging you both with great enthusiasm.”
Evangeline closed her eyes. “Just promise not to be insufferable when I bring them to the Salty Fiddle next week when we go to the village.”
Bee gasped. “You’re bringing him to the Fiddle? That’s basically a declaration of intent!”
“It’s not a date,” Evangeline said quickly, eyes still shut like she could will herself into the floor. “They’re both coming. They asked what we do for fun, and I said we hang out there sometimes.”
“...Ominis will be there too?” Willow’s voice went quiet.
Evangeline cracked one eye open. “Yes, Willow. Ominis will be there too. They’re joined at the hip.”
“Sounds familiar,” Bee said, nudging Evie and Willow with her elbows. “Too bad they’re only a duo. Trios are far superior.”
Willow groaned, too distracted to appreciate Bee’s affectionate nudge. “It’s only Monday and I’m already stressed. I swear, if you say one thing, Bee—”
“I won’t,” Bee promised solemnly, then immediately added, “out loud.”
Evangeline smiled, eyes drifting up toward the glass dome overhead. The sky above the observatory was deep violet now, stars blinking slowly into view, scattered like spilled salt across black velvet. The moon hung low and heavy, its glow cutting soft silhouettes across the floor.
The voices of her friends faded into a hum, the warmth of their presence wrapping around her like a blanket. And beneath it all, quiet and uninvited but unmistakably there, a thought stirred.
She’d only known him a day. A day. That was the part that should’ve made her laugh—how fast it had happened, how stupid and soft it made her feel. And yet the sound of his laugh lingered in her memory. The way his brow furrowed. The freckles across his nose. How he looked at her like he didn’t miss a thing.
Evangeline exhaled slowly, watching the fog of her breath fade into the starlight.
Yeah. She absolutely had a crush on Sebastian Sallow.
I've been having fun in using Canva these past few days with their moodboard template. Actually quite better than my old method of making moodboards :3
