Evolution of SUVs VAZ-2121 "Niva":
VAZ-2121 "Niva" (1977-1982)
Removed threshold moldings (1982-1984)
Grille without edging molding (1984-1994). Additionally: since 1985, the ornament of the rear door "NIVA 1600" moved to the right side of the door, and since 1987, the side bumper pads mod. 21061 gave way to new ones, mod. 2121, which had a slightly different shape
New design of the rear with "vertical" lights (VAZ-21213) (1994-1996)
Chrome plating of the gutters was removed (1996-1998)
The vents in the door windows disappeared (1998-2007)
New oval emblem and new radiator grille with a massive vertical stripe in the central part (2007-2012). Additionally: since 2009, large outside mirrors appeared on the "Niva", the same as on the Chevrolet Niva, and the name of the car changed to "Lada 4x4". Also during this period, the lighting equipment changed.
