I think the thing that really drew me into the xenoblade series was the worldbuilding. The worlds genuinely feel lived in, theres reasons for everyone doing things. Realistic problems and moral dilemas. Characters dont feel forced or fake. For the most part that is im aware of how bad it gets sometimes but the throughline is always the same. Genuine characters, real worldbuilding and a story that brought me to tears on many occasions. Plus the music is phenominal. Yasunori Mitsuda is a master of his craft and his craft is making 20 year old me bawl in her bedroom for 30 minutes.
