Okay, so thereās no actually like, Ā āproofā for this in the show. So honestly, itās just a heacanon. But if you want me to get meta on it... I went on a watched season 1 to answer this (and enjoyed the shit out of it again, thank you lol) and hereās what I found:
During part 1, there insāt many things that made me think of it. Because a little problem I have with this show is that we arenāt sure what is truly a joke and what is... well, true. Itās part 2 that gave me the biggest two reasons.
TheĀ āeasierā one is his discussion with Colt about if they could hook up with certain football players, they spedn the whole episode talking about it and they way he talks about it itās more serious than the way Colt does and itās not only for the laughs.
Then... okay. Episode 11, Rooster and Colt talk about one time Rooster had a teacher into him and this man lied to him about getting him into a wrestling team (you know what that means). Colt asks him why he let that happens and he answers...
AH, THIS ICKY SITUATION. When I first saw this scene, my eyes went big as fuck. Listen, of course it was put for the laughs (and itās problematic as hell, letās not lie here), but when you get into deep into show the way I do, you find interesting and hurtful subtext in many things.
First of, Roosterās expression when he says it was true and the tone of his voice itās horrible. Itās an indicator it did happened and he still believes in what this person told him.
He was a kid when this happened, he was in high schoool.
Later, Colt asks him if he still thinks about that man and he says yes. So yeah, I have thought about this a lot, lol.
But then again, man. Itās headcanon. Donāt take me too serious.
