Work in progress, direct on the wall. The realisation of an eternal desire to draw and write on walls. I can say whatever I feel with the option to keep speaking over and over, the words become lost but still they have been said.

This work is quite unusual for me, just that it is a reworking of a small work in oil on paper. I totally didn't expect it to translate to both a different medium and a much larger scale, but it surprised me and is a big improvement due to the scale. This experience has questioned my processes a bit, I always have a difficulty with large scale abstracts but maybe the key is to work small and then expand.

Large scale mixed media and collage on 200g Fabrino paper. As ever these paintings are just talking to myself, nothing planned the words are just as they come out. To save shipping costs the work is unframed, shipped in a big tube.

Large scale work on unstretched canvas, the work comes securely shipped in a double tube. Sometimes I really excel myself with the rubbish I write.. and so it goes on the days get shorter the nights get longer and the wind in the trees is a breeze it is not about understanding it is about what we forget

Large scale work on unstretched canvas, the dimensions are the suggested stretching dimensions, the actual canvas measures 218x180cm. The main image shows the work stretched to 200x168cm, though it could be stretched larger. The painting is about bad dreams, not crazy nightmares just the bad dreams where you wake up feeling really tired and rubbish. Worse still when you get a whole stack of them, night after night.

Oil on primed paper, mounted and framed with limed and waxed wooden box frame with a gap between the painting and the glass. Mount cut centrally so can be hung any which way
