1st post after years 💀 i miss Niccosasha. Where is everyone? :( Did you guys move on?
AU: Niccolo plays football for Marley High, Sasha (like all the 104th girls) is a Paradis High cheerleader, he literally cannot look away from her (and seeing her wolf down one of everything from the concession stand is ADORABLE!), and he decides to go for it after the game, only to have an unfortunate encounter with the overprotective Jean and Connie.
idk anything about football but it felt good writing this ^^ thank you for such a cute prompt!
double team block
nicosasha. high school au. 2529 words. read on ao3.
Niccolo has never been passionate about football despite being a part of the team for three years now. The rest of his teammates — the entire student body, actually — live and breathe football. His entire school seems to revolve around the sport with priority registration for classes going to football players over students with the highest GPA. Whenever the team wins a game, there are at least three house parties to celebrate. Homecoming is a weeklong event that weasels its way into their English, math, and even science lessons before ending in a dance at the end of the week that rivals prom in terms of party preparation. And then there’s the homecoming game, which has been even more anticipated than others not only because it’s the homecoming game but also because Marley is against Shiganshina High, a longtime rival of theirs. Despite all this, Niccolo still can’t immerse himself in the game like his teammates can.
Niccolo doesn’t hate football. He doesn’t dislike it either. If anything, he’s indifferent to the sport but only because his interests lie elsewhere. More specifically, his interests lie in the culinary arts, but for some reason the requirements for getting into a culinary arts university are ridiculously high. It’s not enough to have good grades and cooking experience. He has to be well-rounded too, which Niccolo doesn’t understand at all. It’s not like a culinary school will ever have the need for a chef in training that has experience as a high school football player, but he’s powerless against the ridiculous expectations of admissions officers and he doesn’t want to ruin his chances by not having an extracurricular.
Mistletoe Experience
"What's that?"
He gave a brief glance in the direction she was pointing. Giving the object a double glance, his curiosity rose.
"It's a mistletoe."
"What's a missile toe?" Sasha drawled. She furrowed her brows at the unfamiliar word(s?) and even squinted at the greenery above.
"Do you guys not have that tradition here? Hanging a mistletoe in a doorway?" Niccolo wondered. He turned away from the sink, his arms wet from washing dishes.
"No. It's kinda weird."
He cracked the smallest of smiles. Returning to his chore, he shrugged, "I see. Well, not everyone is into it. It's a silly tradition back home. If you're caught under a mistletoe with someone, you have to - "
Niccolo nearly bit his tongue. Was he always this hot? Why was he fumbling over himself so suddenly? Answering a question shouldn't be so difficult.
Tearing her gaze away from the bundle of greenery, she stared at hunched shoulders. Taking casual steps toward the man, Sasha turned to press her back against the counter. Eyeing up at Niccolo, she leaned into him a bit.
"Niccolo, what do you have to do?"
"Um, well, er... you know..."
Poor Niccolo was fumbling terribly. Knowing the woman this long now, with minimal negativity in his mind, the answer should have been easy; easier than other things they had spoken about.
"A thing," he forced.
"A thing?" Sasha mused.
Niccolo nodded, eyes trained on the final dish. He hated how hot his face felt. "Y-yes. A thing. When you're caught under a mistletoe with someone, you have to do a thing."
"Is that thing with just anyone?"
"Uh, no. Well, it can be - but it's - it's more special with someone... special."
Was Sasha's side pressing into his? His clothes felt like they were sticking to his skin uncomfortably. The final dish was beyond sparkling now.
"I see."
The warmth from Sasha disappeared. Her signature scent of the outdoors and military life vanished. Haphazardly grabbing a hand towel, Niccolo turned to follow but froze. His breath caught in his throat from Sasha's sudden presence. Her speed and calculative steps allowed the brunette to sneak behind him, a hand hovering above with the borrowed mistletoe from the doorway.
"Can you show me that special something?" Sasha asked softly.
His behind leaned against the counter. He fingered at the collar of his uniform. Niccolo nervously sucked in a slow breath. He avoided her gentle gaze that nearly coaxed him into submission.
"That depends," he whispered. "Am I someone special? Outside of food?"
"You are," Sasha admitted. There was no hesitation in her answer nor her voice. Her available hand raised, and she rested it on a damp elbow. "I wouldn't ask just anybody about this."
The mistletoe between them danced between her fingers. His lips wiggled shyly before they were moistened with rising determination.
Sasha blinked, and her eyes widened slightly. Warm hands cupped either side of her face, a single thumb following the darkening color on her skin.
It was her turn to feel flustered; the close contact, his touch, Niccolo's honey gaze sweetening.
"Under a mistletoe," he whispered. His nose brushed against hers, and Niccolo closed his eyes. "People share a kiss."
"Oh!" Sasha breathed. She giggled, and her free hand rose.
Her finger danced along his arm, partially across his chest, and curved into hair. Guiding him closer, Sasha leaned forward on her toes and gave his lips a peck.
Experimental. Sweet. Innocent. Yearning.
"Nicc," Sasha sighed. The hands on her face ventured. They curved around her frame, and she felt breathless from the way Niccolo cradled her in his arms. Her lips were captured once more, tender and filled with unspoken emotions. It was just them, the lingering scent of dinner, and the freshness of mistletoe resting somewhere between them.
Sasha's tying Niccolo's tie, and he's watching the way her eyes are focused on making it perfect; her brows are relaxed, tongue peeking, and her head tilted for a new perspective. He can't help but smile and take it all in.

Sasha sneaking Niccolo kisses with every visit to the restaurant until Niccolo is brave enough to finally grab her hand, bring her close, and kiss her in turn. It's shy yet tender and lingering to the point Sasha is rendered speechless that entire evening.

Niccosasha fic idea: something to do with what you imagine to be Sasha’s strangest/most unusual pregnancy craving(s)
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
strange tastes
nicosasha. modern au. 1213 words.
Niccolo had believed he did his due diligence when it came to preparing for Sasha’s pregnancy. He had read every book, watched every educational video, talked to all of his friends with previous experience preparing for babies. He’s now an expert in fluffing pillows for maximum comfort, giving massages for ultimate relaxation, and setting the bath water to the exact right temperature for the best spa experience. As for the cooking ... well, Niccolo had reason to think that he was well equipped for any craving Sasha might have. He had gone through five grueling years of culinary school and experience working in different layers of hell that were the kitchens of fine dining restaurants. He figured that Sasha’s requests might be strange — the books had warned him of this — Niccolo just wasn’t prepared for how strange Sasha’s tastes would become.
