2. What’s the last thing you remember before death?
"The absolute last thing? It is... hazy, I believe I was likely delirious from fever. I remember feeling incredibly ill and in pain, and the ceiling of our home. There were people, most certainly a doctor and my wife as they cared for me as best they could in my last days. Possibly my children, but I do not remember."
5. Do you wish you were alive and mortal again?
"Yes. It is unnatural for beings to live this long and in such a way."
6. Was death frightening to you?
"I do not remember being dead. Perhaps it is a blessing? I was incredibly confused and scared, waking up in a wooden box underground however."

Logically, she was right. She usually was. However his heart was telling him otherwise. The part of him that hadn't died after a thousand years, the part of him that always had been and forever will be her husband and a father simply couldn't be convinced. Not having been there for her and their children was something he'd never managed to forgive himself for after all these long, lonely years. Now that she was here in his arms once more, maybe that hurt could begin to heal, but now wasn't quite that time.
