I'm just going to preface this by saying I have been hella sick, and I'm tired, and I need a nap like real bad. To top it all off, I went to the optometrist for the first time in like 9 years. I've been rocking a set of prescription safety glasses I got out of a lost & found for quite a while now. Before that I was wearing my mom's glasses. This new prescription is taking a while to get used to. I hopped on my bike when I left Quality Optical, and I was worried I was going to fall over. Everything was slanted. Now I've gotten pretty used to them, but when I move too quickly, I get a little dizzy. That could just be because I'm sick. I don't know. What was I saying? Oh yeah, I am sick, and I can't really taste anything. This burrito is probably just going to be judged on size and execution, since I didn't really taste it.
The OG Game was working today, and he did me right. I got a pretty decent scoop of rice, and at first I was a little disappointed when it looked like he was going for a second scoop, but stopped. He gave me lots of beans, and I was like, right on! The pan of veggies was empty, so they made some fresh ones. That's always the best. When they go straight from the pan onto your burrito, and they taste like actual vegetables instead of vegetable-matter that's been sitting in a hot dish for hours. It's rare that my taste buds can pick out the individual veggies, but today it was like, "oh, nice, that was an onion." There was a tip cup out today, and I made sure to feed it, because The Game made my afternoon.
Despite feeling like I myself was some kind of zombie today, I found myself in a sea of zombies in the skywalks as I made my way back to work at 4pm on a Friday. The various businesses and bank towers are all connected so the bankers and lawyers never have to go outside and walk amongst the proles. The skywalks were more full than I usually see them, and everyone looked so broken, expressionless. I thought to myself, samesies, but then I remembered I had a big-ass burrito with me that I was about to munch on.
