Lignum vitae... have I mentioned before that I love this stuff? It’s a pain to carve, but responds wonderfully to sanding and polishing, and it smells amaaaazing. I carved one of my personal use holders from LV and I still occasionally find myself smashing it up against my nose like a scratch-n-sniff sticker when I’m distracted 🙊😂

I’ve been neglectful lately in sharing photos of my holders 😬. This pretty baby just travelled all the way to Russia. A little delayed due to some overzealous US customs agents in Chicago, but safely with its new owner now. And it’s been given a special title, Lumen Sage! It’s carved from American holly, custom fit with a fairly traditional grip for American penmanship. I do love Holly. So nice to work with and so so pretty with that super fine grain when it’s all polished up and done 💖.

This custom glitter holder also went out this week ✨✨✨ This is "purple pig party" glitter over a lovely piece of African Blackwood. Love the sparkle 😊💜

It's been a while since I made a pink holder, but I had a custom order for one last week, so I decided to make two 🌹💕. I also decided to take a shot at making a video so you can see better how the ergonomic form really looks. I need to figure out how to make a steady pan and smooth focus adjustments... but it was fun to make 😊. Backing track is from my friend @ianfking and his band #MissingVwls. The holder is carved from a rose tone dyed and spalted maple. It's now available in my Etsy shop if you're interested (buyers choice on the flange), link to my shop is in my profile 😊
