I drew a pfp of my OC, Nian Zhen last night. I originally created her back in 5th grade. She's been through many incarnations before I decided on the current one. Nian Zhen takes place the 2000s in Ashtonville, a town in Ontario, Canada. She’s in high school and goes to Ashtonville High School. No, Ashtonville isn’t actually real place, it’s made up town by me.
It’s been a while since I’ve done a non MLP art, but I decided to draw my OC Nian Zhen as Ne Zha! Ever since I’ve seen Ne Zha (2019) on YouTube, I’ve loved the movie and since been part of said fandom. Nian Zhen being my OC and also her being from China, I decided to have her dressed up as Ne Zha. I did modify some things a bit since Nian Zhen is a teenage girl and not a young boy.
Heya! This is my OC, Nian Zhen Tanner, who is one of my primary OCs, along with Lnx1y, who’s an MLP OC of mine. She lives in Ashtonville, which is about 30 minutes north of Toronto, Canada. Nian Zhen isn’t like most townsfolk as she dresses in Scene fashion, though not in the pictures provided. Though she’s viewed as strange by others, that doesn’t mean she does not have friends. Her bestie is Sandy Hooper, who also dresses in scene fashion.
Nian Zhen's backstory:
Nian Zhen was born in Beijing, China. She was born to her biological mom named Xiao Chun Lim. Because Xiao Chun Lim was poor, she had no choice but to put Nian Zhen up for adoption. It wasn’t until Nian Zhen was around age 2 that she was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Tanner. This would cause Nian Zhen to move to Canada, which was located at the other side of the world. Nian Zhen would also meet her adopted sibling, Antonio, Penelope and Jonah, who are all also adopted. Nian Zhen got along with her siblings well, though they sometimes get into fights. Years later, Nian Zhen and her siblings are in high school. Nian Zhen dresses in scene fashion and she’s alt. Though she dresses scene and has scene friends, she also has friends who are not alt. Nonetheless, Nian Zhen is viewed as weird by many kids in her high school, but Nian Zhen doesn’t care. She’s confident in herself and she loves herself.
Note: Nian Zhen is a high school student during the 2000s since that’s when her story takes place.

Fire Lady

Meet Nian Zhen! She’s a teen girl from the 2000s. Nian Zhen is what others may describe as weird, but she doesn’t mind being called weird. She likes being herself and doesn’t care about what others think of her. Nian Zhen is a Canadian girl who like to dress alt. (Haven’t decided which type of alt for her yet…) Though Nian Zhen likes to dress like how she does, that doesn’t stop her from being made fun of. Anyways that’s all the lore of Nian Zhen for now. There will be more lore in the future! I’ll also make a character card for her!
