I’ve always had a thing for tattoos, not in a weird way but I find to make a person more attractive.

When I first met Gavin I became obsessed with the tattoos he had on his forearm.

We were at my house laying on my bed. The room was quiet except for the quiet sound of the TV that neither of us were really paying attention to.

I was tucked against Gavin’s side, wrapped in a white fluffy blanket. One of Gavin’s arms rested around my waist while my head was resting on his chest.

I shifted slightly, my fingers brushed against the cabin tattoo on the front of his forearm.

Gavin felt my touch on his arm, laughing softly with a small smile on his face. “What are you doing?” he asked softly.

“Nothing,” I murmured.

Gavin glanced down as my fingertips traced the lines with careful movements.

“You do this all the time.” Gavin teased.

“Do you not like it?” I asked, my movements stopping slowly.

“Never. I love it baby.”

“It’s so pretty,” I said as my fingers continued to move against his tattoo.

Gavin laughed quietly.

“Pretty?”

I hummed, nodding my head.

“I don’t think anyone’s called my tattoo pretty.”

I shrugged, smiling a little.

“First time for everything.”

Gavin’s arm relaxed more as I continued tracing. Every once in a while he would glance down, watching my fingers trace the ink on his arm.

“It kinda tickles,” Gavin admitted.

I started to pull my hand away again, but he caught it before my hand even pulled away.

“Don’t stop.”

My eyes met Gavin’s blue ones, and he had a familiar grin on his face that always made me melt.

“I like it.”

I resumed, this time slower, my pointer finger tracing the branches of the trees. Gavin’s eyes closed for a second, letting out a sigh.

“I could fall asleep.”

“You basically are.”I looked up and noticed Gavin’s eyes closed.

“I’m resting my eyes.”

I laughed quietly as Gavin opened his eyes with a smile.

After a few seconds of silence, Gavin leaned his forehead against mine.

“Baby,” Gavin mumbled, “you’re making it impossible to stay awake.”

“You wanted to nap.”

“I do.”

“So go to sleep.”

Gavin’s arm tightened around my waist that made me laugh quietly.

“You’re stuck here,” Gavin said softly.

“I can live with that.”

“Good.” Gavin placed a kiss on my head.

I started tracing random patterns over the tattoo, occasionally rubbing circles with my thumb.

Gavin’s hand that was around my waist slid my back and rubbed gentle circles between my shoulder blades.

“I need more days like this,” Gavin said.

I leaned up and pressed a soft kiss to his lips. Once we parted Gavin smiled immediately.

“Every time you do that…,” Gavin mumbled.

“What?” I hummed.

“I always forget what I’m gonna say.”

“Is that a compliment?”

“Of course.”

I laughed before settling back against Gavin’s chest. His chin rested on the top of my head.

After a few minutes, Gavin’s breathing evened out, and his hand stopped rubbing circles on my back.

I stayed exactly where I was, my fingers rested lightly over the tattoo I’d been tracing.
