if you look at the lore of the new void handcannon im pretty sure thats also Nezarec themed too
(the lore mentions whispers, nightmares, laughing, its void, its debuff is Overwhelming Power [which is Nezarec's wipe attack] and it says tithes [which is normally a Hive thing but the patch notes mentioned "Tithing to the God of Pain" in the buff to Nez Sin)
Interesting. That lore tab confused me a lot, I'm fairly sure that would've been part of some upcoming story at some point so it's completely out of context. Definitely possible that it could be something to do with Nezarec, although I personally wouldn't want him to continue being an threat anymore since I'd prefer we get into other stuff. With that said though, I am very interested in the Acolytes of Nezarec and I'm forever sad that was just kinda thrown in there and then never explored. I wouldn't be opposed to more story about that.
My reading of the lore tab was more in the direction of new stuff as well, mostly because of Tex Mechanica and how Bael is involved with it. But those symbols on the weapon and the characters in the lore tab are entirely unknown. And their goal to send the weapon to Zavala is mysterious. I feel like the whole lore tab is just completely out of context of whatever story it would've been in so there's just speculation left. Honestly anything is possible.
I did walk up to Zavala with that weapon in my holster. Awkward. I really enjoy it, finally an exotic void hand cannon. I can die in peace.
