"Post Passion" At the time Michelangelo created his flawless and 2nd most famous sculpture "Pietà" he was only 24 years old. It took him less than 2 years from 1498-1499 to complete it. He was commissioned by French Cardinal Jean de Bilhères to create Pietà for his funeral monument. Michelangelo's Pietà had a few homes over the centuries & now resides behind bulletproof glass in St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City, after 1972 when crazed geologist took a hammer to it knocking off Mary's nose, eyebrow, & her left arm. “School’s Out Forever” Red Hill, New Mexico is found close to the Arizona boarder. Settlers starting settling here in the late 1920’s. This area can be found between much larger cities of Springerville and Quemado in New Mexico. Red Hill was named after the red hills that scatter this area that were formed from a volcanic eruption that happened over 26,000 years ago. This place is now home to many ranches and farm style homes. If you look closely, you can find the original store, post office, & school house. There are no roads to these places, you have to walk & go under a few fences. Luckily, we found a local resident to help us in find all of Red Hills original buildings. “Master Place” Seneca, Arizona is only now survived by a shrinking Seneca Lake. Towering over the lake entrance is abandoned Cinema Park, its owned by the San Carlos Apache Tribe. In the 1970’s the tribe built a restaurant, camping grounds and cabins in hopes of building a hotel and golf course in the near future, but they defaulted on their loans and everything fell into disarray. This place now stands as a failed attempt and a beautiful stain. The lobby and cabins are badly damaged, graffitied, and ravaged.
