New Year's Eve Dinner Party
Happy New Year everyone! I hope 2014 will bring you all happiness, love and lots of adventures. I want to thank you all for reading my little blog, even though I've been neglecting it a bit during the last few weeks, and I hope you will all be with me in 2014.
To start off the New Year I wanted to share with you our NYE dinner. We usually go out for New Year's or spend it with my parents, but this year Sal and I decided to host a small get-together at our apartment and invite both of our families and some of our close friends.
This year's menu consisted of Holiday Roll Ups, Bacon Wrapped Shrimp, Potato Salad, Oven-Roasted Turkey, Russian Salad, a spicy Queso Dip, Beet-Pickled Deviled Eggs, Honey Smoked Spiral Ham served with a Soy and Sesame Oil glaze, Homemade Three Cheese Quesadillas and Shrimp Ceviche. Some of these are family recipes and others are modified versions of the recipes to which I've linked. I didn't take as many pictures as I would have liked because time flew by once I set the table, but below are a few shots that my mom captured.
The dessert menu included my mom's delicious homemade baklava, my mother in law's amazing flan, my white chocolate peppermint bark and these amazing chocolate chip cookies. Since it was NYE and I wanted everyone to be a a bit on the tipsy-side I also made lots of jello shots and a delicious rum punch with fresh squeezed fruit juice and a cranberry filled ice ring.
