My baby this morning when he was explaining me on the phone how fantastic his new prison is. What he loves the most so far: French lessons on TV, real milk for breakfast (no more powdered milk!!), the food (he got a FRESH banana today!), the garden & the cute rabbits that live there, the 30-minute phone calls, the freedom to come&go all day long outside of his cell, the quietness (no gangs or violence!), the programs & courses offered.

Let them see firsthand how much Guam needs to address this issue and build a new prison...lest we go into federal receivership and rack up exorbinant fees ala GBB with the solid waste crisis. Let our leaders act in the same manner as the good Senator McCreadie and be proactive rather than reactive...

What rationale does the Vice Speaker need? The island's prison is a lawsuit waiting to happen, overcrowded, dilapidated, unsafe and a serious security risk to the law-abiding public at large. That Cruz continues to play politics while DOC is a step away from Federal Receivership is a damn shame but par for the course for the Vice Speaker. Why does he have such a hard-on for McCreadie?

The good Senator McCreadie hopes by seeing firsthand the rampant problems at DOC- his colleagues will rightfully rally behind the dire need for a new prison and help push his bill beyond the legislative purgatory BJ Cruz confined it to last year. I'm not sure what BJ has against a new prison but he should cock his left eye and see for himself the crisis he is helping to sustain by having a bitchfit about McCreadie's bill. It's a New Year BJ let's move forward in the spirit of cooperation - after all that is what we are generously paying you to do.

Trudge on, Senator McCreadie. Trudge on. Don't give up the fight!

While other senators haggle about not wanting raises they really do want McCreadie is pushing forward on timely relevant issues important to Guam. BJ continues to sit on this bill but it is high time we move forward with financing and building a new prison. We are jeopardizing the work GPD does in catching the bad guys by putting them in a civil rights nightmare a step away from federal receivership. McCreadie is going to start a scholarship with his raise money BTW...
